Though it just received a refresh for the 2022 model year, the Ford Focus is slated to be discontinued after production of the long-running model ends next year. That’s bad news not only for folks that appreciate the thrifty, affordable model, but also enthusiasts, as this also means that the high-performance Ford Focus ST will be sailing into the sunset as well. However, gamers will at least be able to enjoy the 2022 Ford Focus ST indefinitely, as it’s set to be added to Forza Horizon 5 soon.
The latest update to Forza Horizon 5 is focused around four more attainable performance vehicles – two hatchbacks and an off-road pickup – along with four Sprint Road Race Routes that are set to join the list as well. Those races are the Cloverleaf Sprint, San Juan Sprint, Valle del Rio Sprint, and Rocosa Sprint, each of which promises an Accolade for gamers posting a clean time.
In addition to those new races and some new collectibles, the 2022 Ford Focus ST is slated to join the Forza Horizon 5 lineup on August 15th, and can be obtained by earning 20 points during the week one “Summer” Season on the High-Performance Dailies Festival Playlist. The gaming version of the Ford Focus ST features the same exterior upgrades, as well as a virtual version of the model’s turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost I-4, which produces 280 PS (276 horsepower) and 420 Nm (310 pound-feet) of torque in real life.
This is just the latest of many Blue Oval products that have joined the Forza Horizon 5 lineup in recent years, however, a list that already includes Colin McRae’s 2001 Ford Focus RS rally car, the Ford F-150 Lightning EV pickup, the Ford Bronco Raptor, and the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R.
