2022 Ford Maverick Recalled Again Over Low Battery Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford Maverick models previously repaired under recall number 24V-267 for a low battery detection issue, as that repair was not completed correctly.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the body and power train control modules may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery state of charge.

The hazards: an undetected low battery charge can result in a loss of electrical accessories such as hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: body control module and power train control module

Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford Maverick models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine that were produced at the Hermosillo Assembly Plant between February 10th, 2022, and May 13th, 2022. Affected models had the previous safety recall performed before May 24th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 757

The fix: dealers will recalibrate the body control module and power train control module, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on August 26th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S50.

Better a low battery than a seized or leaky engine. Common place these days at Ford.

They should brush off their old plans from a 1929 Ford Model A to learn how to make a voltage regulator to keep the battery fully charged at all times.

How on earth did they manage to bundle a recall as seemingly as simple as this? I tell you, we keep sinking father and farther downhill as far as vehicles these days.
And folks pay WAY more for vehicles than justified by the rate of inflation.
She’s gonna blow, at some point.

Just assembled there the idiots that design stuff are the bean counters. No, their not the Mexicans even though says bean in it. It’s the accountants and greed combined, if a part works good in metal let’s make it out of plastic. Like the fuel injectors for the Bronco.

Wish they would solve and recall my 21 and 23 Eacape hybrids as they are always I battery save mode, been Juno a few times, Ford pass does not work , can do any remote start, etc . Started one month after purchase and still occurring , but the dealers say the started battery test OK.

When dealers need a full day for a 5 minute recall update – FMC is not the problem .
Ford dealer greed and stupidity is a huge problem.

The front end of the 2022 Maverick looks much better than the 2025 Maverick. What a design mistake on the 2025!
