When the 2024 Ford Mustang ushered in the S650 generation of the legendary pony car, it brought forth a host of modern updates – including new screens inside the cabin running video game software. This opened up a world of possibilities, giving designers the opportunity to come up with cool, customizable things like different types of digital instrument cluster designs. Back in April, the 2024 Ford Mustang gained such an option as part of its 60-year celebration – a heritage-inspired 1967-1968 model year gauge cluster – and now, FoMoCo has added another to that list.
That update is a new digital instrument cluster design inspired by the 1999-2001 Mustang SVT Cobra, which sported white dials during the daytime, but was then backlit by icy blue details in darker hours. The update was actually delivered over-the-air along with the aforementioned 1967-1968 digital gauge cluster design back in April, but won’t become active until August 17th at midnight for all 2024 Ford Mustang customers that have Automatic Software Updates turned on and set for a recurring schedule in the Software Updates Settings menu.
This is just the latest addition to the Mustang as it continues to celebrate 60 years since its original unveiling – and soon, 60 years since it officially launched. The 2025 Ford Mustang is also adding the 60th Anniversary Package as part of this celebration, which is limited to 1,965 units and contains a host of special features designed to present a modern take on the first-generation pony car.
Additionally, earlier today, Ford revealed that the 2025 Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary Package will also be available in the classic color known as Brittany Blue, which debuted on the 1967 Mustang. However, those interested in purchasing one of these special machines must register their interest and be selected to do so, as it will be produced in scant quantities, it seems.
We’ll have more on the Mustang’s 60th anniversary celebration soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.

Too bad there’s no update for the 1986 Chevy S-10 instrument graphics and displays in my ’23 Bronco.
