The refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick debuted late last month, bringing about a host of changes to the compact pickup as part of its first mid-cycle update. These changes included a revised front fascia, the addition of a larger, 13.2-inch infotainment screen as standard equipment, the new street performance focused Lobo, and the very first time customers can pair the hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive, to name just a few. However, it seems as if the 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid has also received another update that hasn’t really been discussed yet.
That update is the fact that 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid models – both front- and all-wheel drive – can be flat-towed, which Ford Authority has confirmed with Ford truck communications manager Dawn McKenzie. Notably, this is the first time a Maverick all-wheel drive model will be able to be flat towed, as this wasn’t possible with any 2024 gas-powered version of the pickup.
This is sure to be welcome news for those that wish to take their 2025 Ford Maverick with them by towing it behind a recreational vehicle, and the feature can be accessed by turning on “Neutral Tow” in the settings menu.
In addition to this and the aforementioned updates, the 2025 Ford Maverick Lariat is no longer available with front-wheel drive, as Ford Authority previously reported, while the hybrid model now utilizes the beefier HF55 transmission, rather than the HF45 present in the outgoing 2024 model. Production of the refreshed Maverick is currently scheduled to begin at the Hermosillo Assembly plant in Mexico on November 11th, 2024 – though that date is subject to change. However, the entire Maverick lineup has also been treated to a price increase, which varies greatly depending on trim, as Ford Authority recently reported.

2025 Maverick. Ford just couldn’t leave well enough alone. The young engineer and who appeared the new ugly front face should be fired. The Mav looks cheap, ugly and foreign. Ford is losing its place as the leader, now they’re the followers. I’m glad i got.ine 3 years before where the design fits the “little brother ” of the F150, instead of a blind Asian creepy copy
I’m not a fan of the front either and the increase in price after they already increased the price is making the Truck much less desirable. Toyota double cab comes in at 43K pretty loaded. That is getting pretty close to the Maverick
I am n0t waiting 6 to 9 months for a maverick hybrid l retired from ford and we worked overtime to keep up with demand
To both JFA and bob, the 2025 Maverick will have a 6-8 month wait list despite your negitive input. I will be ordering a AWD Hybrid Lariat in Q 1 ’25 . The front end looks just fine, however, I am more concerned with the performance, utility, value as compared to the competition and especially the fact that the Maverick has been around for a few years and has evolved into a solid vehicle and investment.
I agree with JFA and Bob, the front end of the new 2025 Maverick is a step backward. The earlier model Maverick front ends looks much better. I can’t believe is got past the design reviews. I would not buy one because of the front end. Looks very peculiar and out of place. Not Ford.
Who the heck is spending 40 grand on what was designed as a 20k truck. All the dealerships have the overpriced Lariats sitting on the lots collecting dust. But they do have huge waiting lists for the base XL’s.
should have named the F50 instead of maverick. have more street cred.
Well, flat towed , hybrid 4wd is exactly what I asked for.
Looking forward to testing it out.
So ugly even a blind man wouldn’t buy one!
I think the front end looks much better than the outgoing model. The old front end always looked dated and like an american car company that didnt even try. Looked like something GM would produce.
