2025 Lincoln Navigator Debuts With Split Gate, New Interior

We’ve known for quite a while now that the 2025 Lincoln Navigator was set to usher in that big, luxurious SUV’s latest refresh, just three years after the last one in 2022. Over the past several months, Ford Authority has spotted a number of 2025 Lincoln Navigator prototypes out testing, showing off many of its new features, and earlier this week, The Blue Oval teased the refreshed Navigator for the first time. Now, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator has been officially revealed, and there are quite a few notable changes present.

On the outside, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator features a fresh look up front with a revamped grille design and an integrated light bar showing off the Lincoln Embrace welcome sequence – which is also is true of the full-width taillamps.

There are 3D badges out back, and Lincoln Stars laser-etched into the rear panel, while the 2025 Lincoln Navigator also debuts a new split gate design, as Ford Authority previously reported, as well as a relocated wiper blade. The new split gate features “Open on Approach” functionality – meaning that when the user approaches the rear of the vehicle with the key fob or phone on their person, it can open automatically.

In terms of wheel designs, 22-inch units are included as standard, but customers can also opt for 24-inch wheels for the first time – in either high-gloss Ebony or Luster Nickel aluminum. The optional Jet Appearance Package adds unique 22-inch high-gloss Ebony Black aluminum wheels and a black grille, front bumper fascia, roof rack, badging, and belt molding.

Inside the cabin, there are quite a few notable changes, including a new design with a massive 48-inch panoramic display spanning the entire width of the dash, coupled with an 11.1-inch center touchscreen – and it’s running the new Lincoln Digital Experience software, to boot. Google Assistant serves as the default voice assistant, enabling users to control things like the music, navigation, and climate controls, and owners also gain access to a bevy of apps via the Google Play store, while BlueCruise is included as standard across the lineup.

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator also gets Pano Mode, which enables users to play video or gaming apps on either side of the panoramic display when the SUV is in park, and drivers can create their own profiles that are stored via the key fob or smartphone. This way, settings ranging from seat and mirror positioning to favorite apps are set automatically once they enter the vehicle. Four years of Lincoln Premium Connectivity is included as standard, while Lincoln Rejuvenate returns as a multi-sensory experience designed to reduce stress and enhance relaxation by reclining the sheet, activating the massage function, and using a combination of calming visuals, ambient lighting, and soothing sounds, coupled with a fragrance, to boot.

Second-row passengers get the special treatment too, thanks to available Power Tailored captain’s chairs that are power-adjustable, heated, ventilated, and feature a massaging function. In the third-row, the soft-touch bench seat is power folding and can be had with heat as an option. The same is true of Cargo Tailgate Manager, which creates a shelf for multi-level cargo storage, a table for tailgating, and a bench seatback on the 600-pound capacity tailgate.

As for the overall interior design of the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, it has received a comprehensive overhaul, as expected, with a flat-top and bottom steering wheel design, which is wrapped in Wollsdorf leather-wrapped and heated. The 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D Audio System is another nice touch, and it’s accompanied by a 24-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 22-way power adjustable passenger seat, up to 14 USB ports, loads of premium leather, wood trim, and even a crystal-inspired volume knob.

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator Black Label debuts two new themes, stating with Enlighten, which utilizes Warm Horizon leather seating surfaces, a light beige with gray piping and stitching, and laser-etched birch woods accents, plus Espresso carpeting and an Ebony headliner. The Atmospheric theme features Salt Crystal Gray leather seats, a Salt Crystal Gray headliner, black flooring, ash wood appliqués, and Radiant Copper accents. The Black Label also gets the new Atmospheric Lincoln Black Label theme, which features Radiant Copper accents on the grille and fender badging, as well as 24-inch Radiant Copper aluminum wheels.

In terms of tech, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator is equipped with Turn Signal View, which gives the driver a camera view of the adjacent lane on the panoramic screen with the turn signal activated. Intersection Assist helps detect oncoming traffic during left turns, while Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Hitch Assist make backing up a trailer easier.

In terms of powertrains, the 2025 Navigator carries on with the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which produces 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive, coupled with an adaptive suspension with continuously controlled damping. The refreshed 2025 Lincoln Navigator is slated to go on sale next spring, but for now at least, Ford hasn’t revealed pricing for the revamped model.

Sad that another vehicle is going to Android Automotive. Google has invaded another vehicle….

Before long, all American and European cars will be running this. It’s great at first, but they’ll all be prisoners to google in the long term.

Totally agree. Oh, and the whole infotainment system is now a subscription. You want to use Google Maps built in? You need to pay the subscription fee for the data feed. Go back to Sync 4 with built in navigation. There was nothing wrong with that.

Just use Apple CarPlay and Waze to get navigation. Waze is free and much better then google maps.

Why should I drain my battery on my phone when the OEM is more than capable of putting a superior mapping program in the vehicle? Waze and Google Maps are horrible compared to Sync 4.

Another thing…this will stress cell networks even more than they are already. Imagine if every vehicle has 5G data modems on the road, pulling map data, satellite imagery, Spotify, and other telemetry data, the US cell networks can not handle this. Oh, and 3 other passengers in the car are pulling massive amounts of data already watching TikTok, and streaming Netflix from their own devices.

I’ll have to see a video of it, but I can’t for the life of me understand why a return to drop-down gates like wagons had pre-Ford “magic door” in the 50s and 60s is a good idea. Looks like the bottom part would always be in the way (and beyond annoying). Is this a case of not market-testing a feature, AGAIN?

Range Rover and the Cullinan offer this style. I think they’re simply emulating the market leaders.

I guess I’ll be looking for a later build 2024 black label when they get discounted. This new design is just ugly If you want to put something heavy in the back of this one you will have to lean over the tailgate quite a bit exposing your back to injury or rein jury in my case> I had to buy a roll out truck bed tray for my new Hummer for this reason and that pro-gate or whatever they call it is useless but expensive. The big three already own the patents from their respective early 70’s wagons. Even the GM Clamshell gates would be better> Any Fabricators out there want to give it a try?
