It wasn’t too terribly long ago – early 2022, in fact – when the all-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia debuted as a heavily-revamped Ford Expedition rival, replacing a rather old-at-the-time model. Not much carried over from the old Sequoia to the new one, as the latest generation rides on the newer TNGA-F platform, features completely revamped styling, and got a new powertrain as well – the i-Force Max hybrid. Regardless, as the Expedition prepares to undergo a refresh for the 2025 model year, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia has also received a handful of updates, too.
The most notable of those updates is the addition of the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 grade to the lineup, which is aimed directly at the Expedition King Ranch. In fact, its name refers to the year that a ranch near San Antonio was originally established, and today, that same land is precisely where the Toyota Tundra and Sequoia are assembled. Thus, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia 1794 pays tribute to that heritage in a variety of ways.
On the outside, those special touches include 1794 badging, coupled with 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, one will find unique features such as American walnut wood grain trim, and special leather-trimmed, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, with the latter function also now included as standard on the Platinum and Capstone trims. The package is capped off with second-row captain’s chairs, the Tow Tech Package, and a panoramic roof, all of which are included as standard.
Aside from this new model, the 2025 Toyota Sequoia lineup is also getting a few minor updates. Those include the addition of Mudbath to the list of available exterior color options for TRD Pro models, along with the aforementioned Tow Tech Package, which is available on all trim levels, but is also standard on the TRD Pro, Platinum, 1794, and Capstone. Customers can also opt for a new wireless trailer camera system, which uses Wi-Fi to seamlessly stream a live view from behind a trailer onto the digital rearview mirror.
