In March 2023, The Blue Oval announced that the Ford Transit Connect had been officially canceled for the North American market, noting that it would be removed from that lineup following the conclusion of the 2023 model year. That was indeed the case, as the automaker opted not to develop a next-generation version of the small van amid declining sales in the U.S., though the Transit Connect does live on in Europe following a total redesign. However, those in the U.S. that want to purchase a new Ford Transit Connect can still do so, at least, for the time being.
As Ford Authority previously reported, there were still around 2,700 Ford Transit Connect vans in dealer stock across the U.S. as of the end of April 2024, but that number declined to around 1,400 at the conclusion of the second quarter of the year. Now, according to Ford’s July sales report, Ford Transit Connect gross stock has dropped to right around 1,000 units in the past month or so, meaning that there are still quite a few out there for the picking. However, a quick search at Autotrader shows only around 429 units in dealer inventory at the moment.
While it has since received a memorial of sorts after being discontinued in the U.S., the Ford Transit Connect lives on in Europe, though that model is little more than a rebadged Volkswagen Caddy, underpinned by that automaker’s MQB platform and utilizing the same drivetrain options and output, albeit renamed to fit within the Blue Oval family.
Production of the Ford Transit Connect at the Valencia Assembly plant in Spain ended in late December, though the all-new European model debuted for the 2022 model year and is available in a variety of configurations and with several powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid variant.

Farley … big mistake dropping the T/C Van. It should have been expanded. You should have taken the short wheel base, offered it in the “Wagon/Passenger” model in a Plug In Hybrid. I’ve driven a C-Max Hybrid bought new in 2013, and am just about ready for a new car, the C-Max looks brand new after 11 years, and still delivers mid 40’s to lo 50’s mpg around town ! But you lost me an my business, with all the vehicle changes.
They definitely need another money-losing vehicle to compete internally, that’s for sure.
