Ford Bronco Sport Production Decreased In July 2024

Through the first half of 2024, Ford Bronco Sport production at the Hermosillo Assembly plant remained what one might call a bit uneven. In fact, Bronco Sport production dropped in February and March before jumping significantly in April, followed by more subtle increases in May and June. However, things took a sharp turn for the worst in July, as Ford Bronco Sport production plunged to its lowest level of the 2024 calendar year so far.

According to Ford’s July sales report, Ford Bronco Sport production at Hermosillo closed out last month at just 7,377 units, which is 9,146 units or 55 percent lower than June’s total of 16,523 units. It is worth noting that July is typically when Ford schedules downtime at some of its plants, which can last up to two weeks, though it’s unclear if that was the case at Hermosillo. Regardless, almost every Ford model experienced a decline in production last month.

In the midst of its fourth model year, the Ford Bronco Sport did receive a few notable updates for 2024. The Heritage Limited was dropped from the lineup, along with the entry-level Base trim, though Ford added two other interesting choices for consumers – the Black Appearance Package and the retro-themed Free Wheeling model. Otherwise, the rugged crossover received the typical exterior color changes, but not much else.

However, bigger things are in store for the 2025 model year, as the Ford Bronco Sport is slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh. To date, Ford Authority has spotted a few prototypes of that model, revealing an exterior design that doesn’t deviate much from the current Bronco Sport. However, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is also expected to receive some more notable updates, such as a larger infotainment screen inside the cabin.
