Ford Customer Satisfaction Improved In 2024: Study

In recent years, Ford hasn’t performed terribly well in select customer service studies, much of which can be blamed on the fact that the automaker has experienced its fair share of quality woes in recent years. Coming off years of issuing more recalls than any other automotive manufacturer, Ford has been working to right that proverbial ship, however, and we’re starting to see signs that things are indeed improving – which was once again the case in a newly-released study.

A Chart Showing the American Customer Satisfaction Index ACSI Automobile Study 2024 Mass Market Rankings.

This report – the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) 2024 Automobile Study – found that among all mass market automotive brands, Ford ranked eighth with a score of 79, behind Subaru, Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Buick, Kia, and Chevrolet. However, Ford also managed to improve its score by two points or three percent versus last year’s study, which was the third best behind the four percent gained by Kia, Volkswagen, and Ram.

Each year, the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) seeks to measure customer satisfaction benchmarks for the entire automotive industry, using consumer opinions about critical elements of the customer experience to do so. This year, the ACSI results are based on 12,173 randomly issued surveys conducted over a 12-month period that ended in June 2024, with scores reported on a scale of 0-100 based on consumer satisfaction with automotive brands.

Overall, this year’s ACSI is a solid improvement for The Blue Oval, which managed to rank only ninth among the most and least loved car brands by Consumer Reports last year. The Ford brand also ranked below the mass market average in terms of owner satisfaction in that same study this year, though it dropped all the way down to down to 15th place out of 29 brands this time around.

On the positive side we are looking at improvement from a year ago. Nice to see a bit of upside.
