Ford Expedition Among Cars Expected To Last 250K Miles

The Ford Expedition has long been a popular choice among those seeking a large, comfortable SUV with room for the whole family, as well as impressive towing and hauling capabilities. However, the Ford Expedition has also proven to be largely reliable over its handful of generations in existence, and it routinely lands on lists of vehicles expected to last the longest before it heads to the scrap yard. That’s once again true, as the Ford Expedition has made the cut on a new list of vehicles expected to last 250k miles or more, too.

This new ranking comes to us from iSeeCars, which puts out its list of the vehicles that are most likely to make it to the quarter-million-mile mark each year. The Longest-Lasting Cars study originated back in 2013, but this year’s installment analyzed 402 million vehicles to determine which are the most likely to continue operating up to at least 250,000 miles, and it did so by calculating average odometer readings per model year, then feeding that data into a proprietary model to estimate that particular likelihood.

Once those figures were calculated, the Ford Expedition ranked as the 22nd most likely vehicle to make it to 250,000 miles at 13.1 percent, which is 1.5 times more likely than the average vehicle at 8.6 percent. The Expedition was joined in that regard by the Ford F-150, which ranked 16th on the list with a 15.8 percent chance of making it to the 250k mile mark, which is 1.8 times the overall average.

This is nothing new for the Ford Expedition, as it previously ranked sixth out of the top 15 SUVs that have reached or exceeded the 200k-mile mark at 4.5 percent of the total number produced. Additionally, in 2023, the Expedition ranked tenth among all SUVs with a 19.9 percent chance of making it to the 250k-mile mark, which was 1.3 times greater than the average model.

3/4 of the way there on my EcoBoost F-150. No repairs necessary, shows no signs of impending doom.

You’d think after 15 years of production with no major issues (Toyota couldnt go 15 months), the Debbie dowers would STFU by now.
