Though it’s slated to be discontinued next year, the Ford Focus has long been a popular entity in various global markets, including the UK. There, the Focus continues to rank as one of the UK’s best-selling used vehicles, in fact, which isn’t surprising given its lower cost of entry, efficiency, and availability. Now, the latest data pertaining to used vehicle sales in the UK reveals that this didn’t change over the course of the second quarter of 2024, either.
According to new data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Ford Focus ranked as the third best-selling used vehicle in the UK in Q2 2024 with 59,042 sales, which places it behind only the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa in that regard. Overall, the used vehicle market in the UK enjoyed a 7.2 percent sales increase in Q2 as well – its sixth consecutive quarter of growth – with buyers scooping up 1,963,395 models in total.
“It’s encouraging to see the used car market continue its recovery, with choice and affordability rejuvenated by the new car sector’s sustained run of growth,” said Mike Hawes, SMMT Chief Executive. “The increased supply of electric vehicles to second and third owners is helping more motorists make the switch – underlining the importance of energizing the new EV market to support a fair transition for all. Maintaining momentum requires reliable, affordable and green EV charging up and down the country and incentives to get all of Britain on board the net zero transition.”
As for the Ford Focus, it’s no stranger to this particular list, as that same model actually ranked as the UK’s most popular used vehicle in Q1 of this year. Coincidentally, the Focus was also the most frequently scrapped model in that part of the world in 2023, too.

They already did one of those articles.
Do not miss my Focus at all. I found the driving position odd, never could get comfortable.
