The Mustang Mach-E competes in the mainstream electric vehicles (EV) segment, in which we currently include all mainstream (non-luxury) BEVs including crossovers, hatchbacks, and sedans. As more EVs enter the market, there will enough similar vehicle types competing against each other to warrant a specific segment. At that time, we will break these out for more specific sales comparisons. Beyond the mainstream EV segment being discussed here, the remaining EV segment is the premium EV market that contains models from Tesla, Audi, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lucid, Cadillac, Jaguar, Genesis, Polestar, and Fisker. Accordingly, we are not including Tesla models in the mainstream EVs sales analysis, since they are premium/luxury models.
Combined sales of the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 fell 21 percent for 130,000 deliveries.

It’s also worth noting that Hyundai and Kia offer EV models that also include variants with an internal combustion engine (ICE) and/or hybrid (HEV) and/or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version. That includes the Hyundai Kona and Hyundai Ioniq (without a number), along with the Kia Niro. Consequently these models do not offer a direct comparison to the Mustang Mach-E. As a result, these particular Hyundai and Kia models are not included in our analysis. A related Hyundai model, the similarly named Ioniq 5, is all-electric, replacing the original Ioniq. While the Ioniq 5 is a crossover the similarly named Ioniq 6 is an all-electric sedan.
Overall, sales of mainstream EVs grew 40 percent to 74,011 units during Q2 2024.
The Ford Authority Take
Ford Mustang Mach-E sales continue to keep it in the lead in the ever-growing market space of mainstream electric vehicles. The Hyundai Motor Group fields four EV models here, as does crosstown rival Chevy now, though the Chevy Bolt duo has been discontinued, with a replacement on target for the 2026 model year. So even while competition expands, the Mustang Mach-E still holds its own on an individual model basis.
Mustang Mach-E production decreased in June after rebounding in April, potentially impacting sales next quarter.

I wonder why the Tesla Model 3 and Y are not included in this table. Probably they dropped too many sales.
Tesla doesn’t report individual car sales.
If you read the article, it said Tesla is not included because it is considered to be a luxury vehicle. Of course this is not true. The model three and Y are not luxury vehicles in our direct competitors to the other vehicles listed on the chart. They’re just embarrassed to compare their numbers to Tesla
This is terrible news! Means Ford lost tons of $$$$$
