Ford Performance has been churning out gussied-up versions of several of its vehicles for years now, models that offer customers more performance, both in terms of output and in other areas, such as suspension and even bodywork. However, Ford Performance vehicles are only sold in select markets, though we can now add one more to that list – South America, as the automaker’s dedicated unit has officially arrived in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.
Just over a year after Ford Pro launched in Brazil, Ford Performance has now arrived in that same region, with an array of new models joining the Ford Ranger Raptor in that market. That list includes the Ford F-150 Raptor in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, as well as the Ford Explorer ST in Chile, Colombia, and Peru. These models join the Ford Mustang GT Performance and the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance, which are already on sale in South America as well.
In addition to expanding its lineup with these new vehicles, Ford Performance will also offer unique experiences for South American customers in the future, including track day events both on- and off-road, licensed products available to purchase, and an ever-expanding participation in motorsports across the globe. The concept here is to give customers more ways to interact with the Ford brand itself, and meet up with people who share the same passion for these types of high performance vehicles.
“Ford was born on the tracks and the competition is part of our DNA,” said Antonio Baltar Jr, director of Sales, Marketing and Services at Ford South America. “Ford Performance is today the division responsible for carrying out this victorious legacy, bringing exclusive vehicles and experiences that combine high performance, lifestyle and emotion.”
We’ll have more on Ford Performance soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for non-stop Ford news coverage.
