As part of its large van revamp in Europe over the past couple of years, the redesigned Ford Transit Custom just launched in the region last October. Offered in a variety of configurations and various powertrains, that same model also gained a new version of the Ford Transit Custom Nugget as part of its extensive revamp – not to mention a new Tourneo Custom, to boot. Now, additional variants of the Ford Transit Custom Nugget have debuted, giving camping-obsessed European shoppers even more options to choose from.
The first of these two new variants is the Ford Transit Custom Nugget Active, which builds on the Titanium trim with its signature SUV-inspired styling, bolder front grille, black plastic rocker panels, exterior cladding, unique 17-inch machined alloy wheels, and LED taillights. Inside the cabin, one will find water-resistant seat fabric, too. The Transit Custom Nugget Active can be spec’d with all-wheel drive as an option, which is coupled with the 170 PS (168 horsepower) EcoBlue diesel engine and eight-speed automatic transmission.Â
Additionally, the Transit Custom Nugget Titanium and Active trims can now be had in the longer wheelbase version, and with the full range of powertrains. It features a multi-zone interior layout that includes a large kitchen area, enhanced storage for utensils and pans, a larger built-in wardrobe, and a built-in toilet that can be had as an option, too.
Finally, customers can now order the Ford Transit Custom Nugget with the plug-in hybrid powertrain for the first time, which combines a 2.5L Atkinson cycle gas engine with an 11.8 kWh battery and an electric motor to produce 233 PS (230 horsepower). All of these new variants will be on display for the public to check out up close and in person at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Germany, from August 30th to September 8th, 2024, too.

I’d rather see the Full size Transit made with a Pop-up Roof for camping.
