Kindred EV Bronco Debuts With $225K Price Tag

A couple of years ago, a company called Kindred Motorworks revealed that it was working on not only an array of gas-powered first-generation Ford Bronco restomod models – which are all the rage these days – but also, one that would be sold with an all-electric powertrain. At the time, we didn’t receive any additional details about the Kindred EV Bronco, whether that be what sort of powertrain or battery pack it was slated to utilize, nor how much it will cost. Now, however, that model has been fully revealed, shortly after deliveries of Kindred’s ICE models began.

Based on first-generation Ford Bronco models from the 1966-1977 model years, the Kindred EV Bronco looks like most other restomods out there, retaining much of its original styling, albeit with some modern touches like intermittent wipers, keyless entry, power retractable steps, LED lighting, and a soft-open tailgate, paired with a black bikini soft top. One can also spec a hardtop for an additional $15,000, and virtually endless color options are available.

Inside the cabin, customers will find niceties like heated seats wrapped with custom leather, a touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a modern stereo system, power amenities, a wireless phone charger, an Alcantara-wrapped six-point roll cage, and a digital instrument cluster. Things get much more modern underneath as well, with the Kindred EV Bronco utilizing a dual electric motor setup churning out 402 horsepower and 492 pound-feet of torque, though no range figures have been provided yet.

That power flows to all four wheels via a pair of limited-slip differentials, while the Kindred EV Bronco also features four-wheel disc brakes, an independent front suspension, and rack and pinion steering. However, as one might imagine, none of this comes cheap – in fact, the Kindred EV Bronco starts out at $225,000 sans options, with production slated to begin in 2025.
