Lincoln Aviator Production Decreased In July 2024

Given the fact that it tends to implement summer shutdowns in July amid the Independence Day holiday, it’s no surprise that production of several Ford and Lincoln models have historically taken a dip over that same time period. This has been true of quite a few models thus far in 2024, even in cases where plants may not have been shut down for any notable period of time. It’s also true of the Lincoln Aviator, as the luxurious crossover experienced a decline in production in July, too.

Unlike some other Blue Oval products, the Lincoln Aviator didn’t experience any sort of dramatic drip in output between June and July, however – rather, Ford built 2,171 units of that model in June at the Chicago Assembly plant, compared to 1,967 in July – a difference of 204 units, or just over nine percent, according to the automaker’s most recent sales report.

This was also true of the Ford Explorer – which is built alongside the Aviator at CAP – as production of that mainstream model decreased from 12,790 units in June to 12,254 in July, which is a meager difference of 536 units or around 4.2 percent. Following their respective debuts earlier this year, deliveries of both the refreshed 2025 Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer began early this month, after the automaker completed its routine quality checks on both models.

The 2025 Aviator has received a host of changes as part of its mid-cycle refresh, including  a revised front and rear fascia, revamped packages, a new, larger 13.2-inch infotainment screen and 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster, and Lincoln Digital Experience software, while BlueCruise is available for the first time, too. In terms of powertrains, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator comes equipped with just one, for now – the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, which generates the same 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque as the outgoing model, and is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
