Lincoln Nautilus Owners Remain Extremely Loyal To Crossover

Even before the all-new, redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus launched months ago, the owners of that particular model were showing it rather strong loyalty. In fact, the Nautilus routinely ranked among the top new vehicle models with the most loyal owners on various studies conducted by more than one organization, proving that the luxurious crossover has staying power. Now, following the debut of the new, critically-acclaimed Lincoln Nautilus, it seems as nothing has changed in that regard.

According to new data from S&P Global Mobility, the Lincoln Nautilus is the current leader in model loyalty at 46.7 percent through the first half of 2024. Notably, the automotive industry’s overall brand loyalty rate in H1 came in at 52.5 percent – an increase of 1.9 percent versus the first half of 2023 – marking its first year-over-year increase since 2020. Since then, lingering inventory shortages have largely prompted customers to switch brands at a rate higher than the historic average.

“Last year we saw a big jump in the number of households returning to market for a new vehicle, but the inventory was lacking,” said Vince Palomarez, associate director, loyalty product management at S&P Global Mobility. “This year, return-to-market volume remains consistent; however, inventory levels are up more than 40 percent, so households have more opportunity to remain loyal to their previous brand.”

For the Lincoln Nautilus, this strong showing is nothing new. That model ranked as the top vehicle in the luxury mid-size utility segment in S&P’s 2023 Automotive Loyalty Awards, after which it topped the “Overall Loyalty to Model” category in the same study this year, all while winning another accolade in the mid-size luxury utility segment shortly thereafter. As for the 2024 Nautilus, it was recently named one of the hottest brands of the year, with its technology features reportedly winning over consumers at a rapid rate.

Yeah one HUGE thing has changed: That Nautilus you buy in the States was made in China.

New one looks great, but the whole “made in China” vibe is a huge turn off. Then again my 2017 was made in Canada…..

Same for me, I enjoy my 2020 Nautilus. I will be in the market for a new car this winter. But, will never purchase the Nautilus again while it is made in China!!

The 2024 on Nautilus has taken tech to an extreme level. The air conditioner vents, which used to be analog touch and point are now fixed, with air flow controlled via the computer screen. Unfortunately, that requires taking your eyes off the road, futzing with the screen for 4 separate vents, and hoping you don’t crash while your eyes aren’t on the road.

Sometimes analog is simpler and better, especially for older Lincoln customers who aren’t comfortable multi-tasking while driving. Trying to out-Tesla tech for the sake of tech doesn’t make sense given Lincoln’s demographic.

While we at it, bring over the Zephyr from China as well, for those of us who might like a sedan other than a Mustang.

Interesting one of the comments was on the 2020 Nautilus. On my new 2024 Nautilus Hybrid, the battery went Kaput after abt 3 days. I’m driving a 2020 (while waiting for a new battery from Louisiana) and I love it to! However, I was disappointed how the interior looked after only 4 years. Very dull. I like my SUVs shiny.

I think the biggest design miss was the software AC controls but they can be operated by voice command. I do like the digital dash…no need to see a “speed” scale. It is clean with info popping up when needed. I have a 24 Nauti Hybrid.
