For the most part, almost every Ford and Lincoln model experienced a production slowdown in the month of July 2024, which isn’t terribly surprising. In fact, July is not only home to the Independence Day holiday, but it’s also the same month that Ford tends to implement summer shutdowns at some of its plants. Now, we can add another vehicle to that list, as production of the Lincoln Navigator decreased last month as well.
According to Ford’s July sales report, production of the Lincoln Navigator at the Kentucky Truck plant declined from 1,860 units to 1,268, which is a month-over-month decrease of 592 units, or around 32 percent compared to June. The Navigator certainly wasn’t alone in that regard, and in fact, its platform-mate – the Ford Expedition – also saw its output drop from June to July. The mainstream model saw its production levels dip from 6,876 units in July to 4,747 last month, which is a decrease of 2,129 units, or around 31 percent.
Meanwhile, while we’re still awaiting the unveiling of the refreshed 2025 Ford Expedition, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator was just revealed earlier this month. The large, luxurious SUV features a fresh look up front with a revamped grille design and an integrated light bar, new taillights out back, and a new split-gate design, to boot, while 24-inch wheels are available for the very first time.
The interior of the 2025 Lincoln Navigator has received an even more extensive overhaul complete with a brand new design, a massive 48-inch panoramic display spanning the entire width of the dash, and an 11.1-inch center touchscreen, which are accompanied by the new Lincoln Digital Experience software. In terms of powertrains, the 2025 Navigator carries on with the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which produces 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque and is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission. It’s currently unclear when production of the refreshed Navigator will begin, but it’s slated to go on sale in the spring of 2025.
