For reference, we’ve included sales figures for full-size luxury unibody crossovers below, which are typically cross-shopped against the mechanically different body-on-frame SUVs in this segment.

Currently, the only such crossovers are the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class, and Land Rover Range Rover. All three are smaller than the regular Navigator, and of course even smaller than the Navigator L, being closer in size to the Lincoln Aviator. The Audi Q9 is incoming at some point to join these models. Nevertheless, sales of the three unibody crossovers outpaced Lincoln’s body-on-frame SUV during Q2 2024.

The Ford Authority Take

Like the last quarter, Lincoln Navigator sales moved about a third the units of its chief rival, the Cadillac Escalade, which has commanded this space for well over a dozen years now, and Lincoln’s flagship can’t seem to catch the newest model here, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

The refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade recently debuted with an updated look and revamped cabin.

But, for its part the redesigned Navigator has appeared as well, which may turn the sales tide a bit when it arrives at dealerships nationwide.

Lincoln Navigator production decreased in June 2024, though will likely impact sales during the next quarter, if at all.

About Lincoln Navigator

There were few changes for the 2024 Lincoln Navigator, though it does drop standard rear-wheel drive in favor of all-wheel drive. Here is a guide to every 2024 Navigator wheel and package.

The refreshed 2025 Lincoln Navigator debuts with a new versatile split gate, overhauled interior, and revised styling, just three years after the last update in 2022. The fresh look up front shows a revamped grille design and an integrated light bar, while the dash sports a massive 48-inch panoramic display spanning the entire width, coupled with an 11.1-inch center touchscreen. Second-row passengers get available Power Tailored captain’s chairs that are power-adjustable, heated, ventilated, and feature a massaging function.

The new ride comes with standard 22-inch wheels at each corner, while 24-inchers are available for the first time ever.

The 2025 Lincoln Navigator carries on with the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which produces 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission and standard four-wheel drive, coupled with an adaptive suspension with continuously controlled damping. It is also slated to receive a hybrid of some sort down the road.

The refreshed 2025 Navigator is slated to go on sale next spring.

I just don’t see Lincoln has a future. 4 SUV’s, one made in China, no sedans. Too bad, I’ve been driving Lincolns for quite a few years. Their showrooms are nice but only four models don’t fill them. No vision, no innovation.
