The latest Power Rankings have been released, and considering that the best NASCAR Ford driver finished 11th at Richmond on August 11th, 2024, it’s no surprise that The Blue Oval has cooled off a bit and remained right on par with prior rankings. Check out where the Ford drivers rank heading into this weekend’s race at Michigan.
As per the Power Rankings report on NASCAR.com, Ryan Blaney, driver of the No. 12 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, maintains his spot as the best racer in The Blue Oval’s stable. He’s ranked fifth, although that represents a loss of two spots since the last iteration of Power Rankings. He won at Michigan in 2021, though, so it could be just the track to turn things around. The next NASCAR Ford racer slots in eighth, as Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 6 Mustang, picked up one spot, looking strong heading to his home track.
From there, the next Mustang racer is all the way down in 14th. Chris Buescher, driver of the No. 17 Mustang, is now below the Playoffs cutline after a mistake in the pits at Richmond, but he won at Michigan last year and could very well do it again this weekend.
Joey Logano, meanwhile, slots in 16th. His No. 22 Mustang is already locked into the Playoffs, but he’s had an overall disappointing year and got his win snuffed out by contact from Austin Dillon at Richmond. He’s won Michigan three times in his career and could very well make it happen again. Chase Briscoe follows him in 17th, but his last laps led came at Talladega in April, so things aren’t looking all that great for the No. 14 Mustang.
Finally, Austin Cindric rounds out this week’s list for The Blue Oval. He’s ranked 19th and has cooled off in recent weeks, but that doesn’t mean he has no chance of putting the No. 2 Mustang in Victory Lane again.
