These NASCAR Ford Truck Teams Will Likely Make 2024 Playoffs

The forthcoming Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway on August 10th, 2024 will set the 10-truck Playoffs field. One NASCAR Ford F-150 team is locked in, while others might need a miracle to make the championship hunt. All will be revealed soon, so let’s take a look at what the Playoff picture could look like for The Blue Oval.

As per a report from NASCAR.com, five drivers have been locked in with wins so far this season. That includes Chevy drivers Christian Eckes and Rajah Caruth, along with Toyota’s Corey Heim. So far, Ty Majeski is the only NASCAR Ford driver guaranteed a spot in the postseason championship run. He broke The Blue Oval’s winless streak at Indianapolis Raceway Park on July 19th, 2024, putting the No. 98 F-150 across the line first after fighting back from an early-race penalty that put him at a disadvantage.

Majeski is currently third in the point standings, 135 points back from division leader Eckes and second-place Heim. As far as the Playoffs picture looks, Majeski is in fourth place, ranked below Heim with five wins, Eckes with three, and Nick Sanchez with one.

The only other NASCAR Ford Truck Series racer with a sure shot at making the championship run is Ben Rhodes, who drives the No. 99 F-150 race truck. He’s currently 22 points ahead of the cutoff line, ranked ninth in the Playoffs grid. Rhodes has the best average finish at Richmond Raceway of 10.0, with two top 10s under his belt and 79 laps led, although he has yet to turn that into a win. Unless he wrecks out early, he’ll likely make the Playoff field on performance alone, but he could very well win on Saturday.

Matt Crafton, driver of the No. 88 F-150, is in dire straights if he wants to make the championship. He’s ranked 13th, 43 points out of the final Playoff slot, but if he wins at Richmond, he’s guaranteed a spot.

The Truck Series race at Richmond is scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
