In the collector car world, it isn’t entirely uncommon to see the same vehicle change hands multiple times over the course of a few years, as we’ve witnessed first-hand time and time again. In fact, most recently, we’ve come across multiple collector-grade vehicles that have sold at auction, only to resurface for sale yet again mere months later. The latest example of that phenomenon is this 2000 Ford Ranger XL Trailhead, which went up for grabs nearly one year ago, and now, it’s up for auction yet again.
The last time we saw this 2000 Ford Ranger XL Trailhead, it was listed for sale at Bring a Trailer with 2,700 miles on the clock, and wound up hammering for $16,750. Now, it’s back up for auction at Bring a Trailer, this time, with a slightly higher mileage total of 2,900. Prior to that, the compact pickup remained in the possession of the original owner until February 2023, and that person kept it in a climate-controlled space and drove it less than 500 miles over their many years of ownership. Thus, as one might expect, this unique pickup remains in stellar condition.
The Trailhead package added some off-road-focused goodies to the two-wheel drive model such as better shocks, beefier tires, and other components shared with four-wheel drive Rangers, and yet, we don’t see too many of them around these days. This one might just be the nicest of that bunch, as it sports not only low miles, but also, stellar Amazon Green Clearcoat Metallic paint, a perfect Medium Graphite cloth interior, and a clean engine bay packing the naturally-aspirated Ford 3.0L V6, which in this guise was originally rated to send 150 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
In addition to this Ford Ranger, we’ve seen a handful of other Blue Oval models sell and resurface for sale sometime later as of late. That list includes Kris Jenner’s 1956 Ford Thunderbird, a 1994 Ford Explorer Sport with 69k miles, and a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST that was displayed at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
