The 2002 Lincoln Blackwood is a unique (and extremely short-lived) piece of the luxury brand’s history. It was first introduced for the 2002 model year and subsequently canceled after that same model year was built out, making it a rare sight out on the road, with less than 4,000 examples produced through its short run. However, examples do crop up for sale. They’re usually relatively low-mileage, though – one with just 17K miles was recently sold off, another with 24K miles, and another with 32K on the odometer. There’s another currently crossing the digital auction block, all though this pickup is a bit more experienced than prior examples. It’s showing over 100,000 miles racked up over the last two decades.
Offered up on Cars & Bids, 2002 Lincoln Blackwood is one of approximately 3,400, and it hasn’t undergone any major modifications. It’s a classic case of black-on-black, with a black exterior over a Midnight Black interior. It’s spent all of its life registered in Florida with 106,000 miles racked up. It rolls on a set of 18-inch wheels, and features a power tonneau cover, and a power sunroof. It also features rear air suspension and a tow hitch receiver. Speaking of hauling, the pickup’s luxurious appearance belies its towing capacity, which is rated at 8,700 pounds.
The pickup is motivated by 5.4L V8 gasoline engine, rated at 300 horsepower and 355 pound-feet of torque. Output is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, it’s finished in leather, and despite the high mileage, its seats show minimal wear. Speaking of the seats, they’re heated and ventilated for comfort, and it features automatic climate control. Modifications reported by the dealer include tinted windows, a Sony head unit, and a rearview camera, but other than that, it’s all stock.
Unsurprisingly, all that time on the road has produced some imperfections. It’s got some scars, such as various chips and scratches in its paint and curb rash on its wheels. The tires show a 2014 date code. The interior shows minor wear like scuffs on the door panels and interior plastic trim, and the steering wheel is showing some wear. It also has some gaps in its VIN report, but it does not show any mileage discrepancies or accidents in the given time period.
The auction will close on October 1st, 2024.
