Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford F-150 models due to an issue with flickering parking lights.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”
The hazards: flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: LED Driver module
Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford F-150 models that were produced between March 11th, 2022, and July 23rd, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected: 16,543
The fix: dealers will replace the LED Driver module, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin October 7th, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24C30.
