2024 Lincoln Nautilus Wins Over Doug DeMuro: Video

Since its launch earlier this year, the all-new, fully redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has proven to be a hot commodity among buyers, as well as a universally-beloved entity among critics. The new Nautilus is chock full of cutting-edge technology and interesting features that have helped that particular model completely turn things around in terms of sales, too. Thus, it’s not terribly surprising that mega-popular YouTuber Doug DeMuro also has plenty of praise to lavish upon the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus as well.

The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus recently reviewed by Doug DeMuro.

In his new review of the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, DeMuro admits that the luxurious model “doesn’t look particularly interesting – it looks like another anonymous mid-size luxury crossover.” However, he also points out that it’s “more interesting than you’d expect,” and adds that its quirks and features are “surprisingly plentiful.” Those features include things like animated welcome lighting, hidden door handles, and an interior that truly captures DeMuro’s attention.

There, DeMuro is impressed by the giant coast-to-coast screen in the new Nautilus, which he calls a “fantastic innovation” given how much information it provides and how customizable it is, coupled with the fact that it’s basically directly in one’s line of sight, so you don’t have to take your eyes too far off the road to see what’s going on. DeMuro is so impressed by this feature that he believes it “blows basically all of its competitors out of the water.”

DeMuro is a bit disappointed with the output of the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus – even in hybrid form – and notes that it starts out at a price that’s higher than the Lexus RX, though it’s also far better equipped. In terms of the driving experience, DeMuro notes that “it doesn’t really feel that fast,” but adds that it’s “very comfortable” regardless. Interestingly, the Nautilus winds up tying with the RX thanks to its “Doug Score” of 54 out of 100, though it falls behind other, sportier competitors like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. However, DeMuro points out that the Nautilus is also cheaper than those models, and offers up even better tech, to boot.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Doug was very entertaining. I hadn’t seen any of his videos before. And no I wasn’t born under a rock but due to the software complexities of the 2024 Nautilus, I have been researching the heck out of videos to understand and learn what I am dealing with, as a new owner.

I suspect this car will be a “flash in the pan” sales getter for Lincoln. It eschews the basic characteristics that define a traditional “luxury car” in the US. The coast to coast, whiz bang dash screen seems downright gimmicky where when the novelty wears off, people will actually grow not to like. The styling of the car overall is downright pedestrian. It could pass off as a car equivalent to a mazda or any common japanese/korean brand. In other words, its totally unimpressive to look at. In their quest to appease the sports car oriented writers of auto magazines, they then remove chrome accents that tend to make a car stand out more. The wheels look like something you’d find on a Kia not a Lincoln. The same large grille with reduced chrome that most other manufacturers are using also adds to its commonality. But the unforgivable worst thing is they decided to build this car in china and send it back to the US. If they are trying to restore their hey day image of producing posh, luxurious cars of superior quality, coming out with a cheesy looking car made in china, seems to run directly counter to that. gimmicky gadgets are a poor substitute for high quality and keeping to the Lincoln brand DNA of sumptuous interiors with a quiet and luxurious ride.
