Coming off a refresh for the 2023 model year, the Ford Escape hasn’t really experienced any major changes since then, though the small crossover is getting a number of interesting updates for 2025, as Ford Authority has reported over the past few weeks. Many of those updates are deletions of some sort, and there are also a few other notable changes that 2025 Ford Escape shoppers will want to be aware of. Soon, those same shoppers will get to see them up close and in person, too.
That’s because production of the 2025 Ford Escape is already underway at the Louisville Assembly plant in Kentucky. Sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority that 2025 Ford Escape production began back on September 19th, in fact, taking over for the outgoing 2024 model and marking the start of the third year of production since the small crossover received a host of updates as part of its most recent mid-cycle action.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Ford Escape has been treated to its own array of updates, too. Those start with the fact that the ST-Line Elite and Platinum no longer come with the 360-degree camera as standard equipment, and instead, that feature is now available as part of the Premium Technology Package, which costs $1,910 extra. That package also includes a variety of other features including front parking sensors, Reverse Brake Assist, the Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker B&O sound system, HD Radio, the head-up display, and ActiveX seating.
The 2025 Ford Escape has lost quite a few additional previously-standard features, including the Cold Weather Package for the all-wheel drive Active, ST-Line Active, and ST-Line trims. The 2025 Ford Escape Active has also lost its previously-standard eight-way power driver’s seat, replacing it with a six-way manual seat. The ST-Line is losing its aluminum foot pedals that were previously standard on all three ST-Line trims, while the ST-Line Elite and Platinum are ditching the previously-standard ambient lighting. For 2025, the ST-Line and ST-Line Select are ditching their monochromatic painted exterior parts in favor of molded-in-color components. ActiveX seating has replaced leather in the ST-Line Elite with the Premium Technology Package, as well as the PHEV model when equipped with the Premium Package, too.
The 2025 Ford Escape has also ditched its spare tire in non-hybrid models, which has been replaced by the Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit, though a spare is still available as an option for pure ICE models. Finally, rain-sensing wipers are no longer standard on the ST-Line Elite and Platinum trims, too. As far as exterior colors go, Space Silver Metallic has been added as a no-cost option for all trims, though Iconic Silver Metallic and Race Red have also been deleted. However, the good news is, the 2025 Ford Escape lineup has been treated to price cuts across the board, at least.

VERY strange. When Ford has more Escapes already on lots than any other compact CUV. And the 2025 Order Guide is still nowhere to be found. Might have to question the accuracy of those “sources”.
Order a 2025 a month ago , so not sure why you can’t ??
Ask on BlueOval Forums. They should be able to post it.
At least there is a price cut. I’m sure the dealers with leftover ’24s won’t appreciate that.
How much longer will Ford offer the Escape/Kuga? It sounds like the Bronco Sport will take its place.
🇬🇧 My Kuga is a Titanium ( present shape) has all the bits..power tailgate and door protectors to name just two.
The latest, late to the UK is so stripped out it’s name should be changed from Titanium, which Ford designated their top model but has been relegated to a cheap stripped out base model. So it should be called the Kuga Popular…Fords old name for any base or entry model.
There is the ST in various forms but like the old Model T everything trim wise is black..again that was the base model..no chrome.
Look up the brand new Chinese MG HS, ( not available in the US) Ford, that’s how a mid size SUV is done….as a PS, my present car is my sixth Kuga.
I own a 21 Escape SE, nice but QC is still an issue and everything is cheap materials. You can tell its a vehicle that they said “lets use the cheapest stuff we can find”. The 25 has a nicer side profile and nicer front clip as its much more aggressive but still they are dropping standard features when the competition is adding them. Plus my 21 has three outstanding recalls without parts being available yet again. Its a wonder Ford is the recall leader of all OEM’s.
Here’s a crazy idea. Put the 4/banger from the base mustang, 315hp, I think. Tighten up the suspension, drive modes, active exhaust. I’d sell my ‘24 Edge ST and p’up tomorrow.
Here’s a thought … has the fuel injector problems on the 1.5 engine been fixed ?
camera gone now in a 2000 dollar upgrade with other stuff your really dont need.
Imagine buying a 2025 Escape when it’s been stripped of all the good stuff and leaving the useless nannies. Ford needs to get rid of Farley badly, and fix their quality issues.
Where’s my securicode, wah, wah, wah!
Thank you FORD for NOT consulting the most important—-the customer before removing the keypad from the B-pillar, and forcing the customer to pay for a cheap dealer installed substitute! All for “Cost” saving but losing a return customer. I will just keep my current vehicle.
By the way what vehicles will keep the current production installed keypad. This feature is very handy when camping/boating or going anywhere to avoid losing your keys.
