2025 Ford Expedition Teased Ahead Of October Reveal

It’s been about a year since our photographers first spotted the redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition testing on public roads. Since then, subsequent sightings and the recent debut of the redesigned 2025 Lincoln Navigator have shed a fair amount of light on what we can expect to see for the new new model. Now, Ford has officially teased the new Expedition with a reveal date for its introduction.

The official reveal is set for an October 3rd rollout. The teaser image features the silhouette of the 2025 Ford Expedition with the most noticeable aspect of the new front end – a wrap around LED lighting setup that surrounds the headlamps and the lower portion of the front grille. As Ford Authority previously reported, a new Tremor variant is set to join the lineup, replacing Timberline as the SUV’s off-road oriented model. Additionally, an updated King Ranch with bronze exterior elements including wheels is expected as well. Regardless of trim, revised front and rear styling will differentiate the 2025 from its predecessor, with the relocation of the rear wiper rounding out some of the notable changes from past examples of the three-row.

As part of its comprehensive redesign, the 2025 Ford Expedition is also introducing some big changes into the cabin. The automaker opted to position a display in the driver’s field of view that will most likely feature some configurable elements based on user preference. Below, what appears to be a 13.2-inch touchscreen will handle other operations, including HVAC control, meaning hard buttons for heating and cooling are no longer a part of the Expedition’s center stack, a trend that has impacted other vehicles in the Ford lineup too. The rotary dial shifter sites on a ledge that resembles what’s featured on the 2025 Ford Explorer. The Expedition almost certainly will ditch Sync 4 for the all-new Ford Digital Experience infotainment system, which the aforementioned Explorer also utilizes, in addition to the Expedition’s sibling, the 2025 Lincoln Navigator, which debuted in August.

Out back, the 2025 Ford Expedition features a revised taillight design and liftgate. While it isn’t exactly guaranteed, the SUV will likely feature a class exclusive split tailgate that users can sit on. The split functionality already debuted on the new Navigator and the prototype Expedition SUVs previously spotted by our photographers feature tailgates that certainly look like they can perform a similar feat. In terms of powertrains, the Expedition will likely solider on the with 3.5L V6 EcoBoost as the sole powerplant, although a hybrid powertrain is expected to join the lineup by 2028.

The front end looks like cost cutting cheapness. That one peice grille looks terrible. Ford needs a whole new design team.

Sorry I have to comment again. The dash is terrible mish mash of things. Being different for the sake of different is never a good thing. Can you imagine a hi paid executive made these bad decisions. The rear end more different to be different. No design talent at all. I think ford is trying to go out of business.

Thankfully I get to comment again. The dash is a fine variety of design elements. Being different for the sake of being unique is always a good thing. I can imagine a high paid executive signing off immediately on these decisions. The rear end is more unique as is sure to be a welcome difference that other offerings in the segment. Great design talent at Ford. I think ford is trying to step up their business.

Trying maybe. Alot of people try. They are unsuccessful. Different to be different is not unique, its stupid. Different to be better is the way to be. The dash will not be very ergonomic or friendly to use. The rear end? Wtf. Silliness Ford is on a streak of bad decisions and its continuing.

Current Expedition owner. This refresh looks like trash. The interior is a downgrade, the exterior is a downgrade, the only thing about it that I like is the split tailgate. I don’t like that enough to consider this vs it’s competition.

Even if they offered this as a Powerboost, I couldn’t justify it for this dramatic step backwards in design.

People always complaining about how ugly a vehicle looks but when the vehicle comes out they be the first one to buy it. Case in point, the cyber truck from Tesla!

Not true. I don’t want a Ford that looks like a Chevy. In my third Expy but my last until at least the next redesign looks like a Ford.
I don’t own that useless cyber truck either.

The front end looks like a GMC. The rear end looks like a Chevy. And these are not good things. The current gen GMC/Chevy full-size SUV exterior styling is terrible: bloated, floaty, boats going down the road. Why Ford would fubar their full-size SUV identity with these GM exterior styling cues I have no idea.

Moving on to the interior dash/center-stack, I have no good words. It’s terrible. Tacked-on screens to a plastic looking dash, with a bunch of knobs. How does anyone think this cost-cutted interior is good?

I like the exterior but not sold on the interior. Just looks like they took the easy way out by slapping screens everywhere. Just like the Mustang, Navigator and Nautilus. FYI Ford…THIS IS NOT DESIGNING, IT’S TAKING THE EASY ROUTE!

Looks like the Maverick front end designer got his hands on this, it looks hideous!

Is that big black blob going to be on the back of the vehicle? The dash looks disturbing, if I am seeing the pictures right. I’m sorry, but Ford should call this “Ford Nightmare”. I’ll stick with the new Nautilus. Thanx.
