2025 Ford F-150 Drops Factory Navigation On Two Trims

In recent years, more and more people have begun relying on Google Maps and Apple Maps via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for navigation purposes inside of vehicles, rather than the old built-in navigation that typically costs money to update periodically. Thus, factory navigation is starting to appear in fewer new vehicles, and that’s also the case with two trim levels offered on the 2025 Ford F-150.

The 2025 Ford F-150 will no longer come standard with the factory Connected Navigation feature on the XL and STX trims, which was previously standard across the 2024 F-150 lineup. Additionally, the 2025 Ford F-150 XLT will only offer Connected Navigation on the Mid (302A) and High (303A) equipment groups, though in that case, it does include a one-year trial for the service.

In addition to this update, the 2025 Ford F-150 has also received a couple of other changes for the new model year. As Ford Authority reported last month, those include the deletion of the factory SecuriCode keypad from the factory, though that feature is still available as a dealer-installed option. For the 2024 model year, the SecuriCode keypad was included as standard equipment on the XLT trim and above, leaving only the base XL without it. However, the 2025 Ford F-150 has dropped that feature entirely, instead making the SecuriCode keypad a dealer-installed option for the XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor, all at an extra cost of $455.

Additionally, the 2025 Ford F-150 has dropped the previously-available Heritage Edition, which debuted back in June of 2022 for the 2023 model year as a bit of a retro throwback to the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s, when two-tone paint jobs on Blue Oval pickups were all the rage. The Heritage Edition was also created to help celebrate the company’s 120th anniversary, as well as 75 years of the F-Series in general, and was available for the 2024 model year, but is now no longer offered for 2025.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Yet another article about Ford decontenting their vehicle.

Does this mean that the vehicle has no geolocation capability at all? If so, I like it and I’m very interested.

The Securi-code key pad is why I bought a Ford F 150. I really believe it is a negative for it to become a dealer installed option.

100% agree. That and the capless fuel filler are 2 great features that I buy a Ford for. This sucks. They will delete the keypad for 50 bucks and charge you 500 bucks to install.

I bought a 2023 platinum that they deleted the massaging seats for $125 because of the supply chain problems. There is no way Ford would charge me $125 for that feature a an option. Total rip off.

The Securi-code key pad DELETE IS A MONEY GRAB. it is a valuable asset for a fleet manager. Also unbelievable handy for those times your key is in the house, office, etc. and you just need access to your car’s interior. If they are going to do away with this feature they need to come up with a sensible sized key that doesn’t fill your pocket or perfect the phone as a key security.

Why does Ford Motor Co. exist ? It is the reason that I bought a Ford ! I lock the keys in the console so that I won’t lose the keys !

The hertiage model would have been a big hit but the color choices were really bad. Should have been red and white, blue and white, silver and blue, silver and red, and black and red those colors are the retro colors I would have offered. The colors they offer were not retro at all and look like they did not belong to together on any vehicle. Ford just keeps dropping features that customers really like the keypad was something they should have keep standard. I do not want my dealer adding anything they just mess it up. Next thing you know Ford will make the steering wheel optional you know its coming. Ford is becoming the decontent King and the number one slogan now at Ford is what can we take away from you today.
