2025 Ford F-150 Drops Two Colors, Including Avalanche

The 2025 Ford F-150 brings minor changes to The Blue Oval’s highly popular pickup, including an updated exterior color lineup. While the forthcoming F-150 gains two new colors, those new hues come at the cost of two others, which have been nixed from the F-150 for good.

Avalanche (DR)

The two deleted colors are Avalanche (paint code DR) and Darkened Bronze Metallic (paint code LJ). Avalanche was first introduced on the 2023 F-150 for no extra cost, although its availability was limited to the XLT, Lariat, Platinum and Tremor trims. It was also available on the 2024 F-150 before being discontinued for the 2025 model year.

Darkened Bronze Metallic (LJ)

Meanwhile, Darkened Bronze Metallic had a short run. It was introduced on the 2024 F-150 XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum trims, meaning it was only in production for a single model year before being kicked off the order books.

With the loss of the aforementioned colors, that leaves 11 total colors on offer for the 2025 Ford F-150. Specifically, the lineup includes the following (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Agate Black Metallic (UM)
  • Atlas Blue Metallic (B3)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Iconic Silver Metallic (JS)
  • Oxford White (YZ)
  • Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (D4)
  • Star White Metallic Tinted Tri-Coat (AZ)
  • Antimatter Blue Metallic (HX)
  • Shelter Green (DB)
  • Marsh Gray (T9) (new for 2025)
  • Space White Metallic (A3) (new for 2025)

The 2025 Ford F-150 also loses a few features that were available on its predecessors. Specifically, the F-150 XL and STX lose their standard navigation features, although navigation can still be accessed via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which are available via the pickup’s infotainment system. Additionally, the 2025 F-150 no longer offers the Heritage Edition Package. Previously, this throwback package was offered on XLT High (303A) models.

Finally, the SecuriCode keypad is no longer included as standard, but it can still be added to any trim as a $455 extra, but it must be installed by a dealer. In fact, the F-150 follows several Blue Oval models in ditching the SecuriCode keypad, joining the 2024 Ford Maverick, which no longer features the keypad, along with the 2024 Ford Escape.

Wonder why the would ditch the Bronze color on the F_150? Plan on buying a new Explorer this fall and will opt for the key pad. I thought that was popular enough to be standard but what do I know? I’m just a customer.

I 100% agree with this guy!!!! You think there would have been a customer survey ,we’re the ones that buy the product.

Ford doesn’t care what the buyer thinks. They just say take what we have to offer. I think Atlas Blue is terrible. Bring back Blue Flame or Velocity Blue. They brought back Velocity on the Ranger, but not the F150.

Area 51 blue was great but I think it was only offered on the Heritage Edition F-150 this Spring. Maybe that’s why it wasn’t mentioned, I don’t know.
