Ford F-150 Lightning and Ford Mustang Mach-E owners are now able to utilize the Tesla Supercharger network to charge those vehicles on the go, though they must use a special adapter to do so. Back in February, the automaker began taking orders for this part – which is currently free for Ford EV owners – but it soon ran into a bit of a snag as supply chain issues hampered its ability to secure enough of them, prompting it to extend the deadline for owners to obtain one for free. However, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning will also offer this part as an option, it seems.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning can be ordered with the Fast Charging Adapter if desired. That part will be bundled with the Mobile Power Cord and is completely optional. Currently, Ford sells the F-150 Lightning Mobile Power Cord via its official site for a retail price of $520, though it’s likely that this price will rise when the adapter is included. Currently, Ford plans on selling the NACS adapter on its own for $230, as Ford Authority previously reported.
In addition to this update, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash now comes with ActiveX seating as standard, rather than the cloth seats that were included for the 2024 model year. Additionally, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup will drop its previously-standard eLocking rear axle, which is now part of the optional Max Trailer Tow Package, and the Interior Work Surface feature for the XLT and Flash trims has been deleted, though it’s still standard on the Lariat and Platinum.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup has also dropped its formerly-standard (on the XLT and up) SecuriCode keypad, instead making it a dealer-installed option, which is the case with several Blue Oval models these days. Additionally, the 2025 F-150 Lightning will ditch its standard spare tire, replacing it with the Tire Inflator and Seal Kit, though the spare has become an optional upgrade. For the 2024 model year, a spare tire was included as standard equipment across the entire F-150 Lightning lineup.

What about people who don’t need the $520 power cord? Why can’t they get the Tesla Adapter free as previously promised?
I thought the 2025 models were going to replace the existing J1772/CC1 charge port with the NACS (Tesla) port? Thus no need for the Ford/Tesla adapter.
Same here!
That was the rumor a while ago that NACS port would start to be in the 2025 models.
Guess Ford is too lazy and cheap to change it up to make it easier for their customers. Also changing the location of the charge port would be helpful, so their EVs could be backed in the Tesla Supercharger spots would be helpful.
Why drop the SecuriCodr keypad on the driver side “B” pillar? That is a feature which only Ford offers for its vehicles for decades! No other manufacturer offers it. It allows the owner to lock and unlock without using the fob, key, or any device, and do it hands-free. It should be a standard feature forever!
Will the SecuriCodr be on all the Tesla Chargers?
