2025 Ford Super Duty Drops Several SuperCab Configurations

The 2025 Ford Super Duty lineup has been subject to a handful of changes and updates for the latest model year. While its interior and exterior styling is staying the course after its substantial 2023 model year refresh, the heavy-duty pickup is getting standard V8 gasoline engines and minor changes to its trim level lineup, just to name a few. We’ve now learned that even more updates are on the way, and that means that several SuperCab options are now a thing of the past.

2023 Ford Super Duty

Sources familiar with the matter told Ford Authority that three SuperCab variants will not carry over from the 2024 model year. Specifically, the list of dropped configurations includes the SuperCab 148-inch wheelbase pickups, SuperCab Lariat models, and SuperCab F-350 and F-450 dual rear wheel pickups.

As for what else is coming down the pike for the 2025 Ford Super Duty gang, the Platinum trim especially has some interesting inbound changes. Its minor refresh includes aesthetics such as a painted black grille and tailgate appliqué, as well as body-color door handles. Inside the cab, it gets a new theme: Onyx Black with Platinum Blue accents.

Additionally, the heavy duty pickup line loses its factory SecuriCode keypad, following a recent trend that encompasses quite few vehicles in The Blue Oval’s lineup. However, buyers still interested in acquiring the feature still have the ability to do so, but the feature is available as a dealer-installed option.

Ford is focused on simplifying its lineup across the board. That includes standard four-wheel-drive on the XLT trim and up, meaning that the base XL trim is the only pickup in the Super Duty range to still offer rear-wheel-drive.

As previously reported by Ford Authority, pricing for the 2025 Ford Super Duty starts off at $45,300 for F-250 XL Regular Cab models, a bit pricier than the outgoing model.

Pretty disappointing to see that prices are up when Ford dropped 3 cab configurations, dropped the factory keypad and the tailgate-down camera, dropped leather seats in the Lariat, and if you don’t want a Platinum with a blackout package you gotta go up to the Platinum Plus. Ouch.

They lost me forever, only truck I have ever owned is SC Lariats with last 3 being new. Not sure what is going on with F Series last few years but it’s not good.

Do these new Excecutives understand a big reason Ford outsold the competition for so many years, its because of almost unlimited combinations of trucks. Here is a fact, you will not be #1 if you keep cutting choices. Period!! With todays mordern comuterized assembly lines we should be able to order almost any option on any trim. Instead Ford is going backwards. Who cares what other manufacturers are doing. Be a leader not a follower. Keep heading down this less for the customer and you will be playing catch up. Mark my words!

I agree….back in old days.model sheet metal espcially on cars changed every few years….now with all the tech…keep cutting choices….you can go by a Ford dealership aprox 70 percent of interiors are black…..did the same with Transit van,,,only one color…as that grille in F 250 is almost as bad looking as New Maverick…one little thing i noticed.the F 250…has short doors and side body…where they used most of smaller F 250 sheet metal…and can see frame and all the undersides…the prevous 1999 year…and until this model sheet metal fittment was better

You say ” mark my words” but fail to realize two things.
      1. Your words are less informed than the entirety of a single person from a marketing research team.
      2. You didn’t read the article. Nothing in it is confirmed by Ford.

Super Duty starts at $45,000 is not believable. Two on the lot in Chandler, AZ and you got the tremor or platinum king ranch at 85k or 100k last I checked a month ago like 3 times when my niece was looking at mustangs. My F150 was 57k in 2021 so really don’t get the costs here being so super high. It’s super quick and reliable my truck but paint is really easy to scratch and chip…dents are super easy on the aluminum. Took it in for a tumbleweed damage no joke…scratched it up like I drove through several branches. Make them better if you are going to limit the models and charge more. Stay out the DEI stuff as well.

Goodbye Ford, owned 02, 12, 17 & 22 Lariat Supercab’s with the last 3 being bought new. If you don’t want to sell me a new $75k truck in 26 I will look elsewhere even if it means buying a Crew Cab (that I don’t really want or need) from another brand (also something I never planned on doing).
F Series always had a configuration for just about everyone with lots and lots of combos that yes may have sold in small numbers but still were part of the best selling model line anywhere in the world. 30+ SC Lariats on lots or on the way within 100 miles of me with many being special order according to the green window sticker but Ford doesn’t care anymore.

Typical big company mantra……take something that works and has been and replace with, oh, nothing but less! Ford should stop looking to satisfy alphabet soup organizations and please the working force American!

Well, with these changes and most importantly higher cost I doubt I will continue to be a loyal Ford Superduty owner. I had planned on buying a 2024 but then decided to wait for the 2025. Nope. I will be looking at at Dodge or Chevy.

Same, never owned anything but a Ford however 26 or so when ready to replace my 22 I will look at Chevy as long as they still build double cab with the short bed. While they don’t offer the LTZ in that config anymore the LT with upgraded interior (leather with the console) is equivalent to my 22 Lariat and a lot closer to what I want than anything Ford offers moving forward. Such a shame to see F Series gutted like this.
