2025 Lincoln Nautilus Premiere Replaces Spare Tire With Kit

The Lincoln Nautilus received a rather comprehensive redesign for the 2024 model year, one that resulted in a totally new vehicle compared to the outgoing model. As such, we certainly weren’t expecting too many changes for the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus, and that’s precisely the case. However, there is at least one notable update for the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus that prospective buyers will want to be aware of.

That change applies to the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus Premiere trim, specifically, which no longer comes standard with a spare tire. Instead, FoMoCo has replaced it with a standard tire mobility kit, though the spare tire is still available as a $250 option. The 2025 Nautilus Premiere isn’t the only Blue Oval model ditching its standard spare tire for the new model year either, as it joins a couple of other models that have made similar moves as of late.

That list includes the 2025 Ford Escape, which lost its spare tire for the 2021 model year, replacing it with a Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit as standard equipment on all trim levels. Then, as part of the model’s mid-cycle refresh for the 2023 model year, the Ford Escape added a mini spare, while the inflator/sealant kit was discontinued, but it reverted back for the 2025 model year to the old Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit for non-hybrid models. The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning also now comes with the Tire Inflator and Seal Kit, though a spare remains an option.

As Ford Authority previously reported, 2025 Lincoln Nautilus production at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly plant in China began back on on August 12th, 2024, right after production of the 2024 model ended on August 9th, 2024. Though production of the Nautilus shifted from Canada to China as part of its redesign, the luxurious crossover remains popular with owners, who recently ranked as the most loyal of any automotive model.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

Absolutely ridiculous! When a tire goes flat at high speeds (does anybody NOT drive on expressways?) it’s a good bet that no matter how fast you decelerate from 55-70 mph, your tire is not reparable. So you go to change it and….oh, a useless inflater kite. So now you’ve got to wait until a tow truck can take you to the nearest tire store (sure hope it doesn’t happen at night!).

But wait! Lincoln will relieve you of the problem for $250, thus getting money for what the customer should have had built into the luxury vehicle to begin with!

Nickle and diming a consumer who is buying a “luxury” vehicle is the first step to losing a customer!
