The 2025 Ford Expedition is slated to receive a mid-cycle refresh, and even though the big SUV hasn’t been revealed yet, we do know that it will feature updated exterior and interior styling, along with a new variant – the Tremor, which is set to replace the Timberline. Back in October 2023, Ford Authority also spotted a prototype of the redesigned 2025 Nissan Armada, previewing that SUV’s major forthcoming update, and now, that same model has been officially revealed.
The 2025 Nissan Armada replaces an outgoing model that was, to be honest, a poor seller in the full-size mainstream SUV segment, though it’s also been around since 2017 as essentially the U.S. version of the Patrol that’s sold in other global markets. The third-generation 2025 Nissan Armada aims to make up some ground with all-new, aggressive styling on the outside, along with more length and additional cargo space, plus seating for seven or eight passengers, depending on configuration.
Inside the cabin, one will find dual 12.3-inch screens that act as the digital instrument cluster and infotainment screens, though a 14.3-inch center screen is present in higher trims. Like many new vehicles these days, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, along with Google built-in apps for higher trims and the optional ProPilot 2.1 software, which gives users some hands-free driving capability.
In terms of powertrains, Nissan has ditched the old 5.6L V8 in favor of a twin-turbo 3.5L V6, which generates 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. It gives the Armada 8,500 pounds of max towing capability, and can be paired with either standard rear-wheel drive of optional four-wheel drive. A new Pro-4X trim also joins the lineup and gives customers a more off-road friendly option complete with better approach and departure angles, skid plates, tow hooks, and Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tires.

Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Armada has yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to launch in early 2025. The redesigned SUV certainly has its work cut out for it in the hotly contested mainstream full-size SUV space, as it ranked dead last though the first half of 2024 with a mere four percent share in Q2 – not even close to the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition that rank first and second in terms of sales.

The armada looks good I just don’t trust nissan enough. I was big on sequoia till I really paid attention that newly designed 24 sequia platinum had less tech than 24 expedition limited that was getting redesign in 25. Plus toyota has the whole turbo v6 issues. Ford just had too many years perfecting 3.5 ecoboost to try one of these new v6 from toyota or nissan. I’m glad I bought a highly discounted 24 expedition limited last week cause this armada would had me second guessing my morals as the new engine is more powerful than my expedition.
Natural aspirated V8 & V6 will always less prone to major failures and cheaper to maintain than the twin turbo V6 engines from Ford, Toyota and Nissan. Glad to see that GM didn’t follow this trend and still offers 3 powertrain options
