2025 Ram HD Teased As Less Attractive Ford Super Duty Rival

Though it has taken more of an evolutionary approach to the exterior design of the Ford Super Duty over the years, few folks – if any – would call that heavy-duty hauler ugly, at least. However, the same can’t be said of some of the Super Duty’s direct rivals, including the Chevy Silverado HD – a model that has faced its fair share of criticism over what many feel is, well, questionable exterior styling at best. Now, the 2025 Ram HD lineup has been teased, and it may very well wind up being the next Super Duty rival that folks point at and make fun of.

A teaser photo of the refreshed 2025 Ram HD Rebel.

Previously expected to arrive in 2026, the refreshed 2025 Ram HD hasn’t been fully revealed yet, but Stellantis has released some images of that particular lineup – sans camouflage – for the very first time. Unfortunately for Stellantis, the revised model is already drawing its fair share of criticism due to its styling revisions, which include one of the most bizarre front grilles we’ve ever seen – at least, on the Rebel trim.

That piece contains a host of segments, with both horizontal and vertical lines, which is, well, visually confusing, to say the least. Then there are the strange looking headlights intersected by plastic pieces, making for one seriously odd front end design that’s far too busy, in our humble opinion. As for the other two models pictured here, well, they’re a bit less offensive, but still, those headlights just look a bit off, the grille is oddly shaped, and the whole thing just seems like the Ram design team wanted to go in a very different direction here in an effort to make the new HD lineup stand out. Trouble is, it just isn’t working.

2025 Ram HD Lineup Teaser - Exterior 001 - Front

One could easily make the argument that not only does the 2025 Ram HD look worse than the Super Duty, but also, its predecessor, as well as the refreshed 2025 Ram 1500 lineup, and most certainly the Ram 1500 Rebel. That certainly seems to be the consensus thus far, but we’ll soon know just how the public feels about this revamp – and if it’s enough to keep them from buying one.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Honestly doesn’t look too terrible. I’d say looks better then the Chevy HD. Unless they decide to put the hurricane in it it should be a decent truck.

  7. Dont look that bad to me…infact better than Chevy HD…and better as a whole than the grille in some F 250s…..and the stance…better…Ford you can see the hold frame from the side….when they decided to use a lot of F 150 sheet metal…it shorten the side and it shows…unlike when they came out with F 250 etc in late 90s…the body didnt look piece meal..and btw the new Maverick grille looks worse
