As Ford Authority reported this past February, FoMoCo’s Executive Chairman Bill Ford was officially named as one of this year’s inductees into the Automotive Hall of Fame, joining a host of others receiving this notable accolade, including Dr. Betsy Ancker-Johnson, Vic Edelbrock Sr. and Vic Edelbrock Jr., John James Sr., Wendell Scott, and Vivek Sehgal. At that time, the Automotive Hall of Fame noted that the 2024 Induction & Awards Ceremony would take place in Detroit on September 19th, but now, it has selected a rather notable location for that event, too.
That location is Michigan Central Station, which officially opened this past June following years of work and a $1 billion dollar investment on Ford Motor Company’s behalf. The future mobility hub will soon house Ford workers, as well as those from various other mobility-focused companies, capping off a massive effort to rejuvenate a historic site in Motor City. The event will be broadcast live for the first time in its 84-year history, giving fans the chance to see Bill Ford receive this particular honor – one that has previously been bestowed upon former Ford CEO Alan Mulally and the founder of Roush Performance, Jack Roush.
The 2024 Automotive Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Ceremony will air live from 6-10 p.m. ET and can be viewed here. Hosted by WDIV Channel 4 News Anchor Ronda Walker and reporter Kim DeGiulio, the program will include interviews, videos, and insights from event attendees, sponsors, awardees, and inductees, as well as visuals from Michigan Central Station.
“Once again, this year’s event is sold out. We are expecting more than 800 guests to join us at Michigan Central Station to celebrate our honorees,” said Sarah Cook, president of the Automotive Hall of Fame. “We are excited to offer a live broadcast of the ceremony to a global audience and those who have been inspired by the individuals we will be celebrating. This is something we have been working on for a while and it is amazing to see it become a reality.”

And then hopefully he’ll go off to some remote island to live out his remaining days. Jim will be so distraught, he’ll just leave. Good riddance to both.
As soon as I read the title, I scrolled down to see the first comment, knowing that it would be you. Comment was as expected.
Congratulations Bill. The Ford family has a notible history of philanthropy, and this is just another welcomed opportunity.
Yes the family might do some good things with the money they have gotten from selling cars and trucks that are constant recalls. Thats probably why he is inducted because of the recalls breaking an automotive record.
Definitely one of the worst inductees into the automotive hall of fame, while Lincoln becomes China-only in 2030.
Wouldn’t be a bit surprised in Failure Farley is inducted into the automotive hall of fame sometime in the future making this hall of fame a joke.
