Enhanced Range 2024 Ford E-Transit Shipping Out To Dealers

Following its launch for the 2022 model year, the 2024 Ford E-Transit was slated to receive a handful of updates and improvements, as Ford Authority reported back in March. At that time, The Blue Oval noted that order banks for the 2024 Ford E-Transit were scheduled to open up in the spring, with deliveries expected to follow later in 2024. That didn’t happen, though as Ford Authority reported in late July, deliveries of the 2024 Ford E-Transit were expected to take place in late Q3 of 2024. Now, that process has officially begun.

The Extended Range version of the 2024 Ford E-Transit has begun shipping to customers in North America, which is notable because those units are the very first bearing a host of updates. Previously, only 2023 model year E-Transits were populating dealer lots, but customers will find quite a few improvements present in the revamped 2024 model.

Among those updates, perhaps the most notable is the presence of a larger battery, which touts 89 kWh of usable capacity – compared to the outgoing unit at 68 kWh – improving estimated range from 126 miles up to 159 miles in top spec, which represents an increase of 26 percent for low-roof and 32 percent for high-roof models.

While output remains unchanged at 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, the 2024 Ford E-Transit does get faster charging speeds thanks to the presence of new, dual onboard chargers that provide peak speeds of up to 176 kW. That means that the 2024 E-Transit can add up to 67 miles of range in low-roof cargo van configuration in 15 minutes, which is 49 percent quicker than the outgoing model. Finally, the 2024 E-Transit can be paired with FoMoCo’s new North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, which enables the Combined Charging Standard (CCS) equipped EV van to utilize Tesla Supercharger stations.

I own a Transit.. non electric .must be a niche market…150 miles on a charge and wait hours to recharge it…and pay that much for it….150 miles is nothing in trades /construction business….
