Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid Will Arrive With 2027 Redesign

The Ford Bronco Sport just received its very first mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, one that ushered in a few notable changes for the rugged crossover. However, the Bronco Sport is also slated to undergo a more comprehensive redesign at some point in the future, as is always the case with automobiles in general. That process is reportedly slated to take place in 2027, according to a new report, though the upcoming Ford Bronco Sport redesign will also include one very notable update.

That update, according to Automotive News, is the addition of a hybrid powertrain option, which has been something customers have long clamored for. We’ve known for some time that all Ford Blue models (the automaker’s ICE-focused division) were slated to get at least one hybrid powertrain option by 2030, but this is the first time we’ve seen a confirmation of when that might happen with the Ford Bronco Sport, specifically, since a prior rumor indicated that it would debut in 2024.

Though it will presumably be adding a hybrid powertrain option as part of its forthcoming redesign, the Ford Bronco Sport will also reportedly continue to ride

on the C2 platform through at least 2030. In the meantime, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport was treated to a variety of updates that include slightly revised exterior styling, Ford’s 360-Degree Camera with Trail View, a new, larger, 13.2-inch center infotainment touchscreen running SYNC 4, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport, however, is the new Sasquatch Package, which adds a bevy of off-road-focused upgrades such as 29-inch 235/65/R17 Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires, a new Rally GOAT mode, a standard front brush guard, skid plates, four recovery points, integrated tie-downs, Bilstein rear shocks with position-sensitive damping and piggyback reservoirs, new front and rear springs that increase ride height by four-tenths of an inch over the current Badlands model, plus sixth-tenths of an inch of additional suspension travel – giving it 8.3 inches up front and 8.7 inches in the rear.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  • Let's hope to hell they figure out, or have figured out that AWFUL moaning sound that the Brakes make from Day 1 on a brand new BS, when backing up!!! This is my 1st Ford, and last. I love most everything about it, but it's ridiculous that they cannot fix it on the current BS

  • OK. Guess that seals it. Need a vehicle in the next 12 months and want a hybrid. was really hoping the Bronco Sport Hybrid would be available. Will be looking at CRV, RAV4 and CX-50.

  • Agreed Stacy!!! It sounds like Chewbacca in my car when I back up! This is a recall that needs to be resolved ASAP!
