Ford Chile Sales Fall Four Percent In August 2024

Ford Chile sales decreased four percent to 1,478 units in August 2024. The figures place Ford as the sixth country’s best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Hyundai, Chevrolet, Kia, Suzuki and Toyota.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Ford model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Ford also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

During the first eight months of the 2024 calendar year, Ford Chile sales increased 15 percent to 9,537 units.

The Ford Authority Take

After solid increases for two consecutive months, Ford Chile sales suffered a single-digit decline in August. As such, the Blue Oval’s positive streak has ended, but at the same time, the automaker had its best monthly record so far this year, with last month’s 1,478 deliveries surpassing the previous best record of 1,420 units in July.

Unlike previous months, Ford Chile’s fall in August is a consequence of slower Ford Ranger sales. The truck lost its momentum last month, losing a notable volume of 174 deliveries year-on-year that tilted the overall balance to the negative side. Even so, the Ranger was able to maintain its leadership among the brand’s models.

Additionally, the Ford F-Series also suffered a significant drop in Chile, losing almost half of the volume achieved in August 2023. Only the Ford Transit and Territory managed to increase their sales in the month, with the compact crossover ending much closer to the Ranger than usual.
