Ford Edge Wins 2024 Best CPO Value In Canada Award

The Ford Edge was discontinued mere months ago, a decision that disappointed quite a few fans of that particular crossover – not to mention critics, who continue to lavish praise upon the two-row utility. However, the good news is, there are plenty of used Ford Edge models out there that are ripe for the picking, and as it turns out, those same vehicles are among the best certified pre-owned values one can find.

This news comes to us from Vincentric, which just released its 2024 Best CPO Value in Canada Awards list. This year, the Ford Edge ranked as the top mid-size SUV/crossover among 22 competitors by offering ownership costs that were 6.3 percent lower than expected levels. In addition to being joined by the Ford Fusion – which topped the mid-size sedan segment – the Ford Edge also follows up similar success after it was named one of the best five-year-old used SUVs for the money by Consumer Reports and one of the best mid-size SUV values by iSeeCars.

Vincentric derives this data from its annual cost of ownership analysis, which stems from eight different cost factors – depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. From there, Vincentric plugs its data into a statistical model to determine which models have lower than expected ownership costs when taking into account segment and price, and in this case, every vehicle was evaluated in all ten provinces of Canada, plus the Northwest Territories, using a range of insurance profiles and an annual driving distance of 20,000 kilometers (12,427 miles). Interestingly, this year’s study featured quite a few new faces, too.

“For the third year in a row, we’ve seen a trend of a majority of Best CPO Value in Canada award winners being first-time winners in their segments,” said David Wurster, Vincentric President. “This year saw fourteen first-time winners out of a total of twenty-five vehicle segments. This trend goes to show that Canadian shoppers who are in the market for a CPO vehicle have a wide variety of great-value models to choose from. For shoppers who may be overwhelmed by the decision, the Vincentric Best CPO Value in Canada awards can provide guidance and empower them to shop with confidence.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
