Ford F-150 Production Rebounded Significantly In August 2024

Due to the Independence Day holiday and FoMoCo’s various summer shutdowns, production of most all Ford and Lincoln vehicles took a dip in July – in some cases, a significant drop, in fact. That was true of Ford F-150 production at the Dearborn Truck plant and the Kansas City Assembly plant, as the best-selling pickup’s output was down by a large margin compared to June at both facilities. However, Ford F-150 production did wind up rebounding in a big way in August.

According to The Blue Oval’s August 2024 sales report, Ford F-150 production in Dearborn rose from 15,745 units in June to a whopping 28,653 pickups last month – a month-over-month increase of 12,908 units, or nearly 82 percent. In Kansas City, F-150 production increased from 13,119 units to 31,302, which is a jump of 18,183 units, or around 139 percent. That means total Ford F-150 production in August came in at 59,995 units, which is 31,131 units or 108 percent higher than July’s total of 28,864.

July’s low production total was a substantial drop of 22,339 units or around 44  percent less than June’s 51,203 units, so August is more in line with what we’ve seen over the course of 2024 so far. Regardless, Ford F-150 production did experience a bit of a roller coaster ride through the first half of 2024 amid its recent refresh, too. In Dearborn, F-150 production increased big time in February before staying largely flat in March, decreasing in April, then growing in May prior to this latest drop. In Kansas City, that has largely been the same story, too.

As Ford Authority previously reported, the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 gained a number of updates for the new year, aside from the typical front and rear styling revisions. Those include a revamped trim level lineup with the addition of the new Platinum Plus model, the newly available Pro Access Tailgate, a standard 12-inch infotainment screen, all while the turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost has become the new standard powerplant, to boot.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
