The perennially best-selling Ford F-150 was treated to its most recent redesign for the 2021 model year, which was followed by a mid-cycle refresh for 2024. This continued that model’s typical cadence of undergoing a refresh every three years and a redesign every six, which has been the case for some time now. Thus, it’s not terribly surprising to learn that the Ford F-150 is currently slated to get its next significant update in 2027.
This information comes to us from Automotive News, which is reporting that the Ford F-150 will get a redesign in 2027, one that includes the arrival of a new platform, interestingly enough. That should be accompanied by notable updates in terms of interior and exterior styling, as well as new tech and a revised powertrain lineup, though as we saw in 2021, the automaker may not go to any extremes when it comes to the ultra-popular F-150.
Regardless, shoppers in the market for a new Ford F-150 now will find that the pickup has undergone quite a few notable updates as part of its most recent refresh. Those include some mild exterior styling updates, a trim level lineup reshuffling, and the arrival of new features such as the Pro Access Tailgate. Inside the cabin, all 2024 Ford F-150 models now come standard with a 12-inch infotainment screen, as well as a 12-inch cluster screen, while a head-up display is available for the very first time. Mechanically speaking, the previously-standard 3.3L V6 is gone, replaced by the turbocharged Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost across the lineup.
Additionally, the off-road-focused F-150 Tremor received a newly optional modular front bumper, along with its own unique styling touches that further differentiate it from the rest of the lineup. The same is true of the high-performance F-150 Raptor, which also got some styling updates, a new modular front bumper, updated graphics, and in some models, new Fox dual live-valve shocks. Given its rabid popularity, it doesn’t seem as if the F-150 Raptor is going away anytime soon, either.

Why is Ford, and I guess the other 2, keep changing body details, paint colors, options every 6 to 12 months. You buy a truck you like AT THE TIME, and then after you pay 50 grand, they come out with a color that you really like, or an option you would love to have, but now are in debt paying on that $50 grand.
Kind of a silly comment. If you like your truck, that’s v good. But eventually you will want something new and improved. Some other guy is driving a 6 year old high mileage truck and Ford want to be sure they have the most up to date, improved truck possible. You want them to stagnate? Old product? They have to stay in business with something top of the class. Not sell 10 year old trucks that you happen to like!
Be satisfied with what you have.
You act as though it’s not in their best interests to encourage people to upgrade. That’s kinda how business works.
I wonder if quality is in store for the new design? Maybe, possibly as an option?
I’ve got a 22 power boost KR. If they would put in a slightly larger battery and make it a plug in hybrid with 50 miles of all electric range, I’d hop on that. Let me keep my 3.5 twin turbo ice, but give me the option to run most of my city driving on electric! Then when I’m towing or highway driving my ice kicks in.
