Many of The Blue Oval’s production plants face a bit of a lull each year in the month of July due to planned summer shutdowns, which – as has historically been the case – resulted in production decreases for most Ford and Lincoln products last month as well. In some cases, these slowdowns were somewhat minor, while other models faced significant declines in terms of output versus June. Though it’s built in Mexico at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant, the Ford Mustang Mach-E was included on this list, though like pretty much all of its peers, it managed to bounce back in August.
According to FoMoCo’s August sales report, Ford Mustang Mach-E production totaled 6,035 units last month, which is 1,684 units more than July’s total of 4,351 units, or around 39 percent. In July, Ford Mustang Mach-E production dropped by 996 units or nearly 19 percent versus its 5,347 unit output in June, so this is certainly notable.
In terms of sales, the Ford Mustang Mach-E enjoyed a month-over-month increase in August of 6.12 percent to 5,341 units compared to July as well, while year-to-date sales have also jumped by a more significant 40 percent compared to the first eight months of 2023 at 32,167 compared to 23,010. Collectively, Ford’s electric vehicle sales reached 8,944 units in August as well, which is 28.9 percent higher than July – outpacing the automaker’s total sales increase of 13.4 percent to 182,985 units.
Those shopping for a 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E will notice that the crossover received quite a few notable changes for the most current model year. Those include the deletion of the Nite Pony Package, California Route 1, and GT Performance Edition (which has been replaced by a performance upgrade for the GT), and the addition of the MagneRide suspension as standard equipment for the GT, as well as the new Rally model. Additionally, the 2024 Mach-E lineup gets a new e-motor that results in more power and improved range, but for now at least, it’s unclear what sort of changes might be in store for 2025.
