Ford Pro Finds Its Footing In Germany

Ford Pro – the automaker’s dedicated commercial entity – launched in Europe back in April 2022, some time after it debuted in the U.S. Since then, Ford Pro has gone on to enjoy tremendous success in both markets – along with some others that have followed – generating heaps of profit for The Blue Oval and expanding rapidly. In fact, Ford Pro just opened a new customer service center in Germany last year, and it has also started to truly find its footing in that particular country, too.

In the first six months of 2024, Ford Pro registered 39,736 new commercial vehicles in Germany, which is more than the automaker has since it began collecting this type of data in 1990. That’s also 5,000 units or 14.3 percent more than Ford Pro sold in the first half of 2023 as well, helping it to reach a market share of 13.5 percent – its highest in the first half of a year since 1990, and higher than 2023’s figure of 12.8 percent.

Much of this success comes from the automaker’s revamped van lineup, which is the commercial vehicle of choice across the entirety of Europe. The mega-popular Transit Custom (along with the just-launched E-Transit Custom) and Tourneo Custom lineup accounted for 13,050 new registrations in H1 2024 alone, while the Ford Ranger also recorded a solid 6,459 sales in the same time period. Meanwhile, they’ve recently been joined by the redesigned Transit Courier as well.

However, the Ford Transit and E-Transit remain the most popular commercial Blue Oval models in Germany, as those two big vans recorded 15,805 sales in the first six months of the year. Across all of Europe, Ford has topped the light commercial vehicle space for nine years in a row, too – something no other automaker has ever achieved.

“We are continuously expanding our market share in Germany,” said Claudia Vogt, Director of Ford Pro for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. “This shows that our fleet of vehicles, which has been completely renovated over the past two years, is very well received by our customers. In addition, we score with our Ford Pro ecosystem, the industry’s most comprehensive range of smart solutions and networked services for commercial customers.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
