Ford Super Duty Rescues GMC Sierra From Watery Grave: Video

The battle between Ford and General Motors has raged on for over a century to this point, but has only intensified over the years when it comes to one particular segment of the business – trucks. From mid-sizers to full-size models up to heavy-duty diesel-powered haulers, Ford and GM continue to battle it out, and owners of those models also love to take jabs at each other at any given opportunity. Thus, this recent video showing a Ford Super Duty rescuing a GMC Sierra is sure to put a smile on the faces of just about any Blue Oval fan.

First spotted by GM Authority, this clip starts by showing an older Ford Super Duty model on a boat ramp with a rope attached to the rear, though it’s unclear what it’s attempting to pull out of the water at Lake Havasu in Arizona. However, after a few seconds, a fairly new GMC Sierra HD emerges from the watery depths, one that reportedly sank for unspecified reasons.

However, we soon see that the Sierra is towing a jet ski on a trailer, which means that the person driving it most likely went a bit too far when trying to launch that water-bound vessel. We see this sort of boat ramp mishap occur all the time, though it never gets less painful, nor expensive for owners, given how horrific water damage can be in modern, technology-filled vehicles like this. At the very least, the wipers and lighting on this truck are still working, though quite a bit of water gushes out when someone opens the door, which isn’t a good sign.

Of course, this type of unfortunate accident isn’t just relegated to GM owners, as we’ve seen our fair share of Blue Oval models floating in the water in recent years. That list includes a Ford Explorer that suffered the same kind of fate as this Sierra HD, as well as a Ford Bronco that wound up underwater when the high tide rolled in.

  • Nate, the last paragraph in the article, the writer goes out of his way to point out that this happens to Fords as well. I see no way he was making this Ford against Chevy.
Dwayne, from what I've read and soundbites heard, I agree with your statement.
