Ford SUV Sales Up Four Percent During Q2 2024

Ford SUV sales, comprised of the Ford Bronco midsize SUV, which includes both two-door and four-door variants, and Ford Expedition full-size SUV, which includes the extended-length Ford Expedition Max variant, increased four percent to 47,833 units in the United States during the second quarter of 2024.

Bronco sales were flat with 26,086 deliveries, outselling the Expedition by 4K-plus deliveries, which saw sales rise nine percent moving 21,747 units in Q2 2024.

Overall Ford utility sales posted a seven percent decrease to 189,470 units in Q2 2024. Here the Expedition joined the Mustang Mach-E as the lone models in the green.

Ford SUV sales were up slightly during the second quarter of 2024 year-over-year, with the Expedition posting a good nine percent increase. Meanwhile, overall utility sales were down.

Sales of the Ford Bronco for Q2 2024 were flat for 26,086 deliveries for the off-road two-door and four-door midsize SUV.

The 2024 Ford Bronco enters with quite a few changes. Notably, its navigation system offers Connected Navigation with one year of service for certain models, and it no longer features the Trailer Tow Package as standard, although it can still be ordered as a standalone option. The High and Lux packages have been combined for customers looking to dress their Bronco with premium features, while the 12-inch touchscreen is now standard across the board. However, Area 51 is no longer offered as an exterior color option, and the keyless entry keypad has also been dropped for the forthcoming model year. Some models have even been treated to an upgraded steering gear.

Sales of the Ford Expedition for Q2 2024 rose nine percent to 21,747 units for the regular-length and extended-length full-size SUV.

The 2024 Ford Expedition gains a new exterior color dubbed Wild Green as a no-cost option, along with the new Excursion Package, which adds floor liners, the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package and the Advanced Cargo Manager with black roof rail crossbars, along with suspension/drivetrain upgrades such as ControlTrac with eLSD, a 3.73-geared electronic limited-slip differential, and the Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) system with suspension road preview. The 2024 Expedition gains one new exterior color, known as Wild Green, but ditches two colors, namely Infinite Blue Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Forged Green Metallic.
