Back in March 2023, The Blue Oval announced that the Ford Transit Connect had been officially canceled for the North American market, noting that it would be removed from that lineup following the conclusion of the 2023 model year. That was indeed the case, as the automaker opted not to develop a next-generation version of the small van amid declining sales in the U.S., though the Transit Connect does live on in Europe following a total redesign. Those in the U.S. that want to purchase a new Ford Transit Connect are now out of luck as well, it seems.
According to FoMoCo’s latest sales report, the gross stock of Ford Transit Connect vans in the U.S. has reached zero, which is also confirmed by a quick search at Autotrader, meaning that there are apparently no new examples of that van for sale any longer. This is a big change from just a few weeks ago, when there were still around 1,000 units for sale, but it seems as if those seeking a small van were quick to scoop up those remaining vehicles.
While it has since received a memorial of sorts after being discontinued in the U.S., the Ford Transit Connect lives on in Europe, though that model is little more than a rebadged Volkswagen Caddy, underpinned by that automaker’s MQB platform and utilizing the same drivetrain options and output, albeit renamed to fit within the Blue Oval family. Production of the Ford Transit Connect at the Valencia Assembly plant in Spain ended in late December, though the all-new European model debuted for the 2022 model year and is available in a variety of configurations and with several powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid variant.
However, the Ford Transit Connect may not be dead in the U.S. forever, or at least, it may return with a different name. As Ford Authority recently reported, a small van based on the Ford Maverick compact pickup is rumored to be in the works, and was reportedly even shown to dealers at a recent meeting, though further details remain scant at this time.

Farley & Company has messed up again … if they don’t get their house in order GM or some other hot shot Asian manufacturer will eat more of their dinner.
It won’t be GM. They aren’t going to build a small van. They won’t even bother building enough of their full size vans for some reason.
