As was the case with most all Ford and Lincoln models, production of the Ford Transit decreased in the month of July compared to June, which has historically occurred due to summer shutdowns and the Independence Day holiday. However, most every FoMoCo model proceeded to bounce back from that one-month lull in a big way throughout the course of August, and that was also precisely the case with Ford Transit production, too.
According to The Blue Oval’s August sales report, Ford Transit production at the Kansas City Assembly plant increased from 7,051 units in July to 17,269 last month, which is a sizable jump of 10,218 units, or nearly 145 percent. This came after Transit production dipped by a significant 8,765 units, or around 55 percent in July versus June, when that same number was 15,816 – 1,218 units or around seven percent fewer compared to May’s output of 17,034 units.
Aside from May and July, Ford Transit production has only declined only once in the 2024 calendar year, month-over-month, when it fell from February’s output of 17,417 units to 14,018 in March. For much of the year, FoMoCo has been focused on increasing its Transit production capacity as it continues to face heavy demand for the mega-popular commercial-focused large van.
This demand clearly shows up in terms of Ford Transit sales, with the ever-popular model continuing to dominate the full-size van segment thus far this year in spite of a few isolated production declines. The Transit enjoyed a roughly 20 percent year-over-year sales increase in Q1, achieving a significant 60 percent market share in the process. However, things did take a dip in August, as Transit sales decreased by 9.76 percent to 9,703 units, though it’s still up nearly 14 percent year-to-date with 96,373 sales though eight months.

hello-would like to see more information on current status on recalls effecting the Transit Trail Vans. The Transit may have higher production, but their already built transit trails are stuck at the Kansas City plant parking lot waiting for fixes….help
