Ford Trucks – The Blue Oval’s heavy commercial brand – produces a range of vehicles such as tractors, construction trucks, and distribution trucks weighing over 16 tons, including the ever-popular F-MAX. That entity currently operates across a variety of regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), spanning three continents. Now, Ford Trucks has another country to add to that list after expanding into Switzerland.
Ford Trucks has officially entered Switzerland with an array of vehicles including the F-Max and the new F-Line series, a move that’s part of its broader Western Europe growth plan. With this expansion, Ford Trucks is now operating in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and the brand is also working on executing a Northern Europe expansion strategy this year aimed at advancing growth in Scandinavian countries through 2029.
As part of this expansion, Ford Trucks is patterning with BF Import AG – a subsidiary of Auto AG Group – which has more than 100 years of expertise in the Swiss market. Following its launch there, operations will start in five strategic locations in 2024 and expand to include more than eight dealer locations by the end of 2025. Additionally, Switzerland – an EV-friendly market – will be one of the first countries where the first all-electric Ford Trucks model will launch as it enters mass production in 2025.
“Guided by our vision of ‘creating value through the most efficient transportation solutions,’ we have led the heavy commercial sector with global success,” said Ford Trucks Vice President Emrah Duman. “We are excited to partner with BF Import AG, a respected name in the Swiss market, as we expand our presence in Europe. Our strategy focuses on leveraging our strong product portfolio and dealer network to deliver exceptional value and efficiency, particularly in key markets like Switzerland. As a brand at the forefront of future mobility, we remain committed to enhancing the operations of our Swiss customers through advanced technology and efficiency.”

Don’t you mean “partnering with”?
Who in the states knew that Ford had such a presence in the EU?
It would be fabulous to see these products for sale in USA.
Have been a long haul driver for 33 years. I remember the Ford cabovers well and think a dual drive axle version would work well here again, they are about 4000 lbs lighter than a conventional with equal equipment.
