As it does every year around this time, Apple hosted a special event yesterday to announce the arrival of the iPhone 16, along with the all-new Apple Watch Series 10, AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2, and updated versions of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods Max. In recent months, we’ve seen more and more integration between Apple products and the FordPass app, with the latter recently being integrated into the iPhone’s Control Center. As part of yesterday’s event, the FordPass app was once again featured prominently, too.

Just a couple of months after making an appearance in Apple’s official video outlining its iOS 18 update, FordPass was used as an example of how users can lock or unlock a vehicle more easily using the company’s software, as we can see in this short clip posted to X by Jace Craft-Miller. As Craft-Miller previously demonstrated, users can also do things like add a specific control to turn on the climate control in their vehicles. among other functions.
Back in May, the FordPass 5.0 update also became available, which is designed to make the app easier to use and more efficient, while also giving owners more control via their smartphones or even Apple Watches. This full redesign reportedly speeds up the app and makes it less prone to crashing or experiencing other errors, to boot. On top of that, Ford has added one tap vehicle controls, quicker access to key features, an enhanced charge management function for EVs, smart watch updates, and a remote climate control feature specifically for Ford F-150 Lightning owners.
Recent updates to FordPass have paid off in terms of critical acclaim, at least, as the app ranked in the top five in J.D. Power’s 2023 U.S. OEM EV App Benchmark Study, as well as above average in the same organization’s 2023 U.S. OEM App Report and third in the 2024 version of the latter.

Ford pass is useless with my 21 and 23 Escape hybrids. Apparently the starting battery is alway in battery saver mode, so not access to ford pass unless the car is running- it who needs it once your in the car?
All, since in starter battery saver mode, no interior light go on etc. ford really suck at building cars
Ever since the last “update” , the app sucks. One can no longer add to the maintenance log and the location function is basically worthless now. Whom ever designed this so called update should be terminated.
Ford is the only company to update software and take away features and functionality. I loved using the trailer light check function on my F-150 when towing on the app. No more.
Farley needs to be fired now!!!
I agree the app is a joke. I just completed a J D Power survey today and gave it a bad grade.
That app sucks now! The 5.0 update destroyed it. I can’t even find my milage on it anymore.
