Sales of the Lincoln Aviator (see running Lincoln Aviator sales) in Q2 2024 leapt 90 percent year-over-year for 5,664 deliveries, though it slipped a spot from the previous quarter when ranked by sales volume to place eighth, or mid-pack, among 16 entries in the luxury E-utility segment.

Meanwhile, crosstown rival Buick Enclave (see running Buick Enclave sales) fell two spots to seventh place with a 36 percent drop to 5,886 units, perhaps due to a generational changeover of the all-new 2025 model, and the Aviator followed in eighth. Finally, crosstown Cadillac XT6 (see running Cadillac XT6 sales), GM’s second entry here, dropped a couple of spots as well to place 12th with a 16 percent downturn for 4,439 deliveries.

The Ford Authority Take
Even though Lincoln Aviator sales nearly doubled year-over-year during the second quarter of 2024, it slipped a spot from the previous quarter as it continues to face stiff competition in a market every luxury marque seems to be tackling.
During this year alone, the 2025 Audi Q7 And SQ7 were revealed as updated Aviator rivals. The 2025.5 Volvo XC90 and 2025 Acura MDX both also debuted as updated Aviator rivals. Then the 2024 Lexus GX was revealed as a redesigned rival to join the fray. Notably, while the GX is a traditional, body-on-frame vehicle like the Lincoln Navigator, in terms of size it’s closer to the Aviator.
The refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator officially shipped out in August, so we’ll see how sales pan out for the update of Lincoln’s largest crossover. It will take a lot in order to stand against the onslaught of competitive offerings that have debuted their own updates. Only time will tell.
About Lincoln Aviator
The refreshed 2025 Lincoln Aviator features an updated design and interior, while bringing new tech headlined by BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free highway driving assist technology, available for the first time ever on the Aviator.
Other key changes include updates to the trim level structure, including discontinuation the Grand Touring (plug-in hybrid) option (though a new hybrid version may be on the way, eventually). As such, the 2025 Aviator is offered in just three trims, namely Premiere, Reserve, and Black Label.
Regarding powertrain options, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator comes equipped with just one – the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost, which generates the same 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque as the 2020-2024 models. It is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
